The device described in this manual is a CO2 Laser Tube, specifically the Model W, manufactured by Beijing Reci Laser Technology Co., Ltd. This product is a crucial component for laser systems, designed for applications such as cutting and engraving.
Function Description
The CO2 Laser Tube - Model W emits laser radiation with a wavelength of approximately 10600nm. It is a safety level 4 product, indicating that it emits high-power laser radiation that can cause severe damage to eyes or skin upon direct or indirect exposure. The laser beam, though invisible, can cause irreparable damage to the retina or cornea. Therefore, appropriate and certified laser safety glasses are mandatory during operation.
The laser tube is designed for both cutting and engraving functions. For engraving, a current of 4mA is recommended to produce pulses with high frequency under a preionization state, which is optimal for better engraving results.

Working Conditions:
- Water Cooling: Pure water with a standard temperature of 10°C to 50°C. Flow rate should be 2-5 liters per minute.
- Application Environment: Temperature from 2°C to 40°C, humidity from 10% to 60%.
- Current: Detection current is 28mA. The maximum operating current must be controlled at 28mA or less, and the long-term operating current at 26mA or below. Operating life can reach 8,000 hours if the current is 24mA or less. Overcurrent can lead to the negative electrode turning yellowish and shorten the tube's life.
Usage Features
Installation:
The installation requires careful adherence to the provided diagram. The positive electrode carries a high voltage, and the ignition voltage must reach the specified parameters. Failure to follow these guidelines can lead to fire, inner tube breakdown, and water leakage. The recommended distance from the ends of the laser tube where pipe racks should be placed is denoted by "Length B" in the diagram. The front end of the tube should be 2mm higher than the rear end to facilitate the charging of air bubbles from the water jacket. A high-pressure sheath with double-sided tape is coated on its inner wall to prevent the protective sleeve from sliding out, and it should be sealed with plastic wrap to prevent dust.
Safety Precautions:
- Eye Protection: Always wear appropriate and certified laser safety glasses during operation and debugging, as the laser beam is invisible.
- Direct Exposure: Never look directly at the laser output head while the laser is running.
- High Voltage: Be aware that the positive electrode carries high voltage.
- Manual Adherence: Strictly follow the product manual for operation; any damage due to illegal operation will not be the manufacturer's responsibility.
- Dust Prevention: Keep the plastic wrap around the high-pressure jacket to prevent dust from entering the vicinity of the electrode.
Product Advantages:
- Technical Advantages: High product qualification rate and independent processing capacity for core components.
- Standardization: Highly automated production process.
- Power Advantage: Power output is more than 10W higher compared to other brands of the same specification.
- Beam Quality: Beam quality for all laser tubes reaches more than 95% of TEM00, ensuring good product consistency.
- Long Warranty: 12-18 months warranty, with most tubes lasting around 3 years in actual use.
- Optical Resonators: Features a recently developed lithographic discharge tube for spatial filtering, improving power and product consistency.
- Optical Coating: Reci is one of only two companies globally (and the only one in Asia) with a radiation safety license for vacuum-depositing radioactive isotope material onto optical lenses. This material has a very low absorption of 10.6um, making it irreplaceable.
Maintenance Features
Lens Cleaning:
The surface of the beam output lens is critical and should not be scrubbed with tools like cotton balls, as this can severely affect power.
- Contamination: If the lens is contaminated, do not use the laser tube.
- Initial Cleaning: Blow the lens surface obliquely with a balloon.
- Deeper Cleaning: If blowing is ineffective, remove the lens and gently rotate it with a cotton ball moistened with a small amount of alcohol.
- Alcohol Usage: Use minimal alcohol to avoid touching the glue layer of the adhesive lens, which could cause gas to escape.
- Drying: Do not use the laser until the alcohol has completely evaporated.
- Prohibited Solvents: Do not scrub the lens with acetone.
- Prevention: The best way to protect the lens is to maintain a clean environment.
- Testing: When testing the beam on plexiglass, keep it 300mm away from the mirror.
Storage and Transportation:
- Cooling Liquid: The cooling liquid must be drained out during storage or transportation.
- Output Protection: The output must be covered with a dust-proof plastic wrap.
- Temperature and Humidity: Storage temperature should be between 2-40°C, and humidity between 10-60%.
- Packing: Use the original package. Secure the sponge and laser tube with tape to prevent longitudinal sliding during transportation. The output lens should have a protruding sponge of 70mm, and the reflective lens 50mm.
