Troubleshooting:
My repeater will not power on.
Make sure the battery is fully charged upon receiving your repeater. A full charge from
an empty battery usually takes approximately three hours. When the battery has been
fully charged the CHRG LED will turn off.
The repeater is shipped with the buttons in a locked state. Press the reset button next to
the USB connector to activate the repeater. The power LED should illuminate indicating
the repeater is operational.
The DTMF tones are not turning my repeater on /off.
You may need to adjust the volume level of the radio for the repeater to decode the
DTMF tones correctly. There is no specific set volume level since most radios differ
slightly. A good rule of thumb is to start at 60% volume level and work up trying different
settings. You want to make sure the repeater is first detecting the carrier, then press the
# or * key for 1 second before releasing the transmit button on the station radio. The
repeater will respond with three short or three long beeps indicating the current state of
the repeater.
Repeater powers on but nothing is happening.
Make sure you are using a UV-5R compatible radio. Just because your radio has a K
connector does not make it compatible with the UV-5R. Just because a radio is a
Baofeng, does not make it compatible with the UV-5R radio. The SRPT-02 repeater
needs specific voltages, and specific signals levels to operate correctly. Using radios
that are not compatible with the UV-5R can physically damage the repeater.
