The Redsbaby CONNECT™ is a soft baby carrier designed to transport children weighing between 3.2kg and 15kg (approximately 0-24 months). Its primary function is to provide a secure and comfortable way to carry your baby, allowing for hands-free mobility while keeping your child close. The carrier supports various configurations to accommodate different stages of your child's development, ensuring ergonomic positioning and safety.
A key feature of the CONNECT™ is its Tri-layer™ System, specifically designed for the diverse Australian climate. This system offers flexibility to transition from cool to warm weather, ensuring your baby's comfort in various conditions. The system includes a lightweight and breathable mesh layer, a retractable windbreaker, and an optional thermal layer (sold separately). The lightweight and breathable mesh is constructed to support your baby without adding bulk, promoting airflow. The retractable windbreaker shields and protects from the cold and can be neatly tucked into an integrated front pocket when not in use. The thermal layer, made of plush microfiber, provides warmth and includes hand pockets for the wearer.
The carrier also features a SmartShade™ and CONNECT Pockets™. Newborn Inward Facing Position (0-4 months, min. 3.2kg - max. 7kg): This configuration is recommended for infants weighing less than 7kg or between 0-5 months. To set up, first disconnect the waist belt and side buckles. Then, attach the newborn configuration by zipping it onto the carrier, ensuring the zipper is properly attached. The newborn configuration helps the baby sit in an M-position, which is ergonomically correct. In this position, the baby's thighs sit around your torso with hips bent, knees slightly higher than the bottom, and thighs supported, with the back in a C-shape. To place your baby, fasten the waist belt around your waist, adjusting it by pulling the straps on each side. Face your baby towards you and place them into the Newborn Configuration. Use the colour-coordinated buttonholes to select the appropriate size for your baby. Support your baby's head as you lift them up, then place the shoulder straps over your head and connect the side buckles. Finally, adjust the side and shoulder straps by pulling them away from you as needed.
Inward Facing Position (5-24 months, min. 7kg - max. 15kg): This configuration is suitable for older infants who can hold their head upright. The initial steps are similar to the newborn configuration: prep the carrier by disconnecting the waist belt and side buckles. Fasten the waist belt around your waist, adjusting it as needed. Face your baby towards you and place them into the carrier. Then, repeat the steps for placing shoulder straps, connecting side buckles, and adjusting straps as described for the newborn configuration.
Outward Facing Position (5-24 months, min. 7kg - max. 15kg): For children who are ready to face outward, this configuration allows them to observe their surroundings. To use this position, follow the same steps as the inward-facing configuration, but simply face your child outward in the carrier. Remember not to extend the SmartShade™ when the baby is in this position.
