Once finished with charging, disconnect the battery charger from
supply mains. Disconnect the negative terminal (black clamp) first
and the positive terminal (red clamp) afterwards. Leaving the charger
connected to the battery without input power will slowly discharge the
battery.

before you leave it unattended and connected for stationary charging.
