The Remington Volume Plus Air Styler, model AS500AU, is a hot air styling appliance designed to dry hair while simultaneously creating volume, waves, and shape. It is intended for household use and offers professional results, making it suitable for quick touch-up styling. The styler is not suitable for use on synthetic hair wigs or hair extensions.
The primary function of the Volume Plus Air Styler is to dry and style hair using heated airflow and interchangeable brush attachments. It allows users to achieve various styles, including curls, flicks, waves, and added volume. The appliance operates on a 230/240V AC household outlet and features two heat/speed settings: a low heat/speed setting (1) for finer hair and a high heat/speed setting (2) for thicker hair.
A key feature of the styler is its curl release button, which prevents hair from tangling during styling. When pressed, this button allows the brush to rotate freely, enabling easy removal of hair from the brush without disturbing the created style. The appliance is equipped with a thermostat that automatically cycles 'OFF' if the temperature exceeds a safe level, typically due to a partially blocked air inlet or outlet. Once cooled to room temperature (approximately 10-15 minutes), the thermostat resets, and the appliance can be switched on again.
Before use, hair should be damp but not soaking wet, and free of hair spray, mousse, or gel. For optimal results, shampooing, conditioning, and towel-drying hair to prevent tangling are recommended.
The Volume Plus Air Styler comes with two interchangeable brush attachments: a 19mm round brush and a 25mm soft bristle brush. To attach a brush, it is inserted into the top of the handle unit until it clicks into place. To remove, the brush should be held at the neck near the handle and firmly pulled. Brushes must be cool before removal. Both brushes can be detached for compact storage.
To style hair, users select the desired heat/speed setting (1 or 2). It is crucial not to cover the air inlet with a hand during operation.
To curl hair: Either the 19mm round brush or the soft round bristle brush can be used. A section of hair, approximately 5-6 cm wide, is separated and spread evenly over the brush surface. The tightness of the curl depends on how tightly the hair is wrapped around the brush and how long the brush is held in place. The 19mm round brush creates tighter curls, while the soft bristle brush helps boost volume. To release the curl, the curl release button is pressed, and the hair is unrolled from the brush.
To create a flick out: Start at the end of a hair section. Hold the styling brush over or under the hair to create a flick out or a bob.
To shape or wave hair: Place the brush just below the desired shaping area and push up. Quickly remove the styling brush and hold the wave in place with a hand until the hair cools.
To add volume: Use the soft bristle brush and brush hair against its natural direction of growth. Use slow, gentle strokes until the desired volume is achieved.
The salon swivel cord enhances ease of use by preventing the cord from tangling when twirling the unit around the hair. Users should keep their hair away from the air inlet grille to prevent it from being drawn into the appliance. Hot air should not be directed towards the eyes or other heat-sensitive areas. Attachments may become hot during and after use and should be allowed to cool before handling.

Cleaning: All vents and openings should be kept clear of dirt and dust. If cleaning is necessary, the appliance must be disconnected from the power source. The exterior can be wiped with a damp cloth. The appliance should never be immersed in water.
Storage: When not in use, the unit should be unplugged. Allow the appliance to cool completely before storing it in a safe, dry location, out of reach of children. The power cord should never be wrapped around the appliance, as this can cause premature wear and breakage. The cord should be handled carefully to avoid jerking, twisting, or straining, especially at the plug connections, to ensure a long life for the product.

The appliance should never be left unattended when plugged into a power outlet.
