PARKING BRAKE (continued)
Automatic gearbox versions
For safety reasons, the automatic
release function is deactivated for
positions other than P or N,ifthe
driver's door is open or not closed
properly. A beeping sound draws
your attention to this and the “gear
lever in position P or N” message is
displayed on the instrument panel.
Never leave your vehicle
without moving the
selector lever to position
P or N. This is because
when the vehicle is stationary
with the engine running and a
gear engaged, the vehicle may
begin to move if you accelerate.
There is a risk of accident.

brake, the “Parking brake fault”
message appears on the
instrument panel, the ,
and warning lights
come on and a beep sounds.

allow.
It is therefore essential to
immobilise the vehicle
by engaging first gear
(manual gearbox) or
position P (automatic gearbox). If
the slope requires it, chock the
vehicle.
