1. Determinethevoltagerequirementforthedevicetobepowered.Select12Vor24Von
the back of the power pack.
2. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive input terminal and the black
(negative –) clamp to the negative input terminal.
3. VerifythattheLowVoltage/SmartPolarityOfflightisilluminated.
4. PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.Thebatterymeterdisplaywillshow
a countdown.
5. VerifythePowerlightison.Thepowerpackisnowsupplyingcurrenttoyourdevice.
6. Turn the unit off by turning the switch on the back of the power pack off, and then
disconnect the clamps.
7. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
Beforeusingyourportablepowerpack,youshouldfullychargeit.Note:TheRescue2100
willrechargeonlywhenthevoltageselectorisinthe12Vposition.Thebatterydisplaymeter
willshowwhentheunitischargingandwhenitisfullycharged.Youcanchecktheactual
batteryvoltageanytimebypressingtheinternalbatteryvoltagebutton.Rechargeevery30
daysoranytimetheinternalbatteryvoltagefallsbelow11.5V.Fluctuationsintemperature
can accelerate battery discharge. Check your unit often. Charge using the supplied built-in
A/CchargerorusetheRescue604095in-cabchargingcord.
1. Determinetherequiredbatteryvoltageofthevehicletobejumpstarted,andsetthe
switchonthebackofthepowerpacktothecorrectvoltage.Verifythatthecorrect
voltage light is illuminated on the front panel of the power pack.
2. Checkvehiclebatteryterminalsbeforeusingthepowerpack;cleanthemifnecessary.
3. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive terminal or post on the discharged
battery.
4. Connect the black (negative –) clamp to a ground away from the battery, such as an
alternator bracket.
• Note:Somevehiclesareequippedwithpositiveandnegativestartterminalsaway
fromthebattery.Usetheseterminalswhenavailable.
5. VerifythegreenSmartPolaritylightison.Ifitis,pressStart.Ifitisnot,refertothe
troubleshooting section.
6. VerifythePowerlightison.Theunitisnowsupplyingjumpstartingpowertoyour
vehicle.
7. Starttheengine.Afterapproximately6secondsofcontinuouscranking,ifthedisabled
vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 2 minutes. This prevents damage to your power
pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
8. Turn off the power switch on the back of the power pack and disconnect the clamps,
rstnegativeandthenpositive.Storeclampsproperlyonunit.
9. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
• IftheRescue2100isnotfullychargeditmayshutdownunderheavyloadifitcannot
deliversufcientvoltage.
• Failuretokeepinternalbatterychargedwillleadtopermanentbatterydamage.
