2. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive input terminal and the black
(negative –) clamp to the negative input terminal.
3. VerifythattheLowVoltage/SmartPolarityOfflightisilluminated.
4. PressandholdtheStartbuttonfor4seconds.Thebatterymeterdisplaywillshow
a countdown.
5. VerifythePowerlightison.Thepowerpackisnowsupplyingcurrenttoyourdevice.
6. Turn the unit off by turning the switch on the back of the power pack off, and then
disconnect the clamps.
7. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
Beforeusingyourportablepowerpack,youshouldfullychargeit.Note:TheRescue2100
willrechargeonlywhenthevoltageselectorisinthe12Vposition.Thebatterydisplaymeter
willshowwhentheunitischargingandwhenitisfullycharged.Youcanchecktheactual
batteryvoltageanytimebypressingtheinternalbatteryvoltagebutton.Rechargeevery30
daysoranytimetheinternalbatteryvoltagefallsbelow11.5V.Fluctuationsintemperature
can accelerate battery discharge. Check your unit often. Charge using the supplied built-in
A/CchargerorusetheRescue604095in-cabchargingcord.
1. Determinetherequiredbatteryvoltageofthevehicletobejumpstarted,andsetthe
switchonthebackofthepowerpacktothecorrectvoltage.Verifythatthecorrect
voltage light is illuminated on the front panel of the power pack.
2. Checkvehiclebatteryterminalsbeforeusingthepowerpack;cleanthemifnecessary.
3. Connect the red (positive +) clamp to the positive terminal or post on the discharged
battery.
4. Connect the black (negative –) clamp to a ground away from the battery, such as an
alternator bracket.
• Note:Somevehiclesareequippedwithpositiveandnegativestartterminalsaway
fromthebattery.Usetheseterminalswhenavailable.
5. VerifythegreenSmartPolaritylightison.Ifitis,pressStart.Ifitisnot,refertothe
troubleshooting section.
6. VerifythePowerlightison.Theunitisnowsupplyingjumpstartingpowertoyour
vehicle.
7. Starttheengine.Afterapproximately6secondsofcontinuouscranking,ifthedisabled
vehicle fails to start, stop and wait for 2 minutes. This prevents damage to your power
pack and to your vehicle’s system from overheating.
8. Turn off the power switch on the back of the power pack and disconnect the clamps,
rstnegativeandthenpositive.Storeclampsproperlyonunit.
9. Rechargepowerpackafteruse.
• IftheRescue2100isnotfullychargeditmayshutdownunderheavyloadifitcannot
deliversufcientvoltage.
• Failuretokeepinternalbatterychargedwillleadtopermanentbatterydamage.
