1. POSITIONINC
THE
HI-FI SYSTEM
When
deciding
on
a location
for
your
system,
observe
the
following
rules:

Do
not expose
your system to
direct sunlight
or
heat

to
ensure
air circulation.

your
system
from excessive
moisture
or
dust.

Do not
set up
your system

unstable

VOLTACE

Before
connecting
the
power cord to
the
AC
outlet
ensure
that
the
voltage
rating
specified
on
the
rear
panel matches
your local
line voltage.
if
the
equipment's
operating
voltage
is changed,
the
cor-
responding
fuses
must
be changed
accordingly
ln
addi-
tion,
an
adhesive
label specifying
the
new
voltage
and
fuse ratings
must
be
affixed.
All
servicing
of
Revox
products should
be
referred
to
quali-
fied service
personnel!
3. CONNECTINC
THE
COMPONENTS
To
connect
the components,
please
refer to the
diagram
on the
fold-out
page of
this
manual.
Connecting
the
components
(audio
signals)

pairs of loudspeakers

B) to
the
binding

amplifier.

Unscrew
the
heads
of the
binding
posts until
you
can
insert the
bare
wire into the
hole.

Retighten
the
heads of the
binding
posts.
.
Ensure
correct
polarity
of
the cables
(red
=
positive
and
white
=
negative)
when connecting
ihe
loud-
speakers
to
the amPlifier.

Do
not
plug
banana
plugs or
power
plugs
into the
binding
posts

Connecting
to the
AC
Power
outlet
Use
the two-conductor
power
cord

to
connect
the
AC
POWER
sockets

of the
Exception
components
to
the
AC
power outlet.
Cautionl
Connecting
io the AC
power must
be the
last
step
in order
not to
damage
loudspeakers
and
compo-
nents.
4. OPERATINC
THE
HI-FI SYSTEM
Interconnected
system
operation
The Exception
series
has been
designed as
a system
with
the
amplifier
as
its
core
unit.
lnterconnecting
ihe amplifier
with the
other
Exception
components
(sockets
[25])
simplifies
the
operation
of the
system.
At
the touch of
a button,
the amplifier
and the
desired
music
source are
switched
on
while the
source
which
is
no
longer needed
is
switched
off.
Manual
operation
Each
Exception
component
can
be operated
manually
and
independently
of the
other components.
Remote
control
The
Exception
components
can be
remotely
controlled.
The
lR receiver
lens of the single
components
[1]
receives
the
infrared
commands
transmitted
from the
handset.
Standby
mode
After
correct
installation
and
connection
of
the compo-
nents
to the
AC
power outlet,
the system
is in standby
mode.
The
LEDs on
the
5ingle
components
[2]
are
lit.
The
LEDs
turn
off as soon
as'ä ömponent
is switched
on
The
system
is now
ready for use.
Either
press
the
control
keys
on the
units
or use
the remote
control
to switch
on and
operate
the system.
ln standby
mode, the
power con-
sumption
of the system
is
low.
Switching

Press
the
corresponding
power key

to
turn
the
Excep-
tion components
on or
to switch
them to
standby
mode.
lf
you
want
to turn off a
component
completely,
discon-
nect
it
from the AC
power
by
using the
power switch

5. OPERATING
THE
E 450 AMPLIFIER
Front

hold

power key for
more than

seconds to
switch off
all ancillary
room
equipment.
