Overview

The Rheem Classic® Series Two-Stage Upflow/Horizontal Gas Furnace (RGPQ- Series) is a heating appliance designed for residential use, suitable for utility rooms, closets, alcoves, or attics. Its low-profile 34-inch (864 mm) height allows it to be used in both upflow and horizontal configurations, eliminating the need for field conversion between these orientations. This design makes it versatile for various installation scenarios, including those traditionally requiring a horizontal furnace.

Function Description:

The RGPQ- Series furnace provides two-stage heating, meaning it can operate at a lower capacity for milder weather and a higher capacity for colder conditions. This two-stage operation, combined with a two-speed draft inducer motor and an insulated blower compartment, contributes to quieter operation and improved comfort. The furnace utilizes natural gas (or LP propane with an approved conversion kit) as its fuel source and is equipped with a direct spark ignition system for reliable startup. An integrated control board manages the furnace's operation, including blower control, safety limits, and includes hookups for a humidifier and electronic air cleaner.
