Explains how to identify if the TRD has been activated by checking for a missing glass bulb and shut off plate rod penetration.
Turn the gas valve to OFF before starting the replacement procedure.
Remove the jacket door to access the combustion chamber.
Remove tamper-resistant screws from the burner and disconnect supply tubes and ignition wire.
Remove the burner access door and the old gasket, then clean metal surfaces.
Locate and remove the TRD housing by pushing down and rotating it counter-clockwise 90 degrees.
Find the spring clip inside the combustion chamber and discard it.
Align the shut off plate rod with the hole, press firmly, and rotate the TRD installation tool clockwise to lock.
Ensure the TRD assembly is secure and the shut off plate rod is not visible.
Reinstall the gasket and the burner access door assembly.
Reconnect the pilot supply tube, thermocouple, main gas supply tube, and piezo ignitor striker wire.
Turn on the gas valve, relight the pilot, and run the main burner to ensure air shut off plate is open.
Set the thermostat to a safe temperature, recommending no hotter than 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
Reinstall the jacket door to the combustion chamber.
