Why is my RHINO NITRO FN15 Brush Cutter vibrating so much?
    • W
      Walter GomezAug 16, 2025
Excessive vibrations in your RHINO Brush Cutter can stem from several issues. Start by checking and tightening any loose gearbox bolts, blade holder nuts, or blade nuts. Inspect the output shaft for bending and replace it if necessary. Ensure the blades can swing freely. Uneven blade wear can also cause vibrations; weigh the blades and ensure their weight is within 1 oz of each other. Replace both blades as a set. Other potential causes include a bent blade carrier (replace it), an improperly seated blade hub (remove, clean the tapered spline shaft, and replace the hub), mismatched new and worn blades or bolts (replace in sets), or incorrectly phased drivelines (replace drivelines). Also, ensure the implement and tractor yokes are aligned.

Why is my RHINO NITRO FN15 not cutting grass properly?
    • A
      Andrea GonzalesAug 19, 2025
If your RHINO Brush Cutter isn't cutting effectively, start by sharpening or replacing dull blades. Ensure the blade rotation is correct for your carrier. Verify you're using the correct PTO speed and check the gearbox ratio if the carrier RPM is too low. Adjust the machine to ensure the cutter is level. Move the tires out of the cutter overlap area if they are mashing down the grass. Reduce ground speed if it's too fast. Free the blades if they are locked back, and replace worn blade bolts if the blades are riding up.

What to do if my RHINO NITRO FN15 gearbox is overheating?
    • Y
      yvettebaldwinAug 21, 2025
If the gearbox on your RHINO Brush Cutter is overheating, first check the lubricant level and fill it to the level plug if it's low. If the lubricant is the wrong type, replace it with NLGI 000 lubricant. Also, remove any excessive trash build-up around the gearbox. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the bearings or gears might be set up improperly, and you should consult your dealer.

How to fix a leaking gearbox on my RHINO NITRO FN15 Brush Cutter?
    • F
      Frederick JonesAug 26, 2025
If your RHINO Brush Cutter gearbox is leaking, the following steps can be taken: * Replace any damaged oil seals. * If the shaft is bent, replace both the oil seal and the shaft. * If the shaft is rough in the oil seal area, replace or repair the shaft. * Ensure the oil seal is installed correctly; if not, replace it. * If the oil seal isn't sealing in the housing, replace the seal or use a sealant on the outside of the seal. * If the oil level is too high, drain it to the proper level. * Replace any damaged gaskets and tighten any loose bolts. * If there is a sand hole in the casting, replace the castings or gearbox.

What to do if the clutch slips excessively on my RHINO NITRO FN15 Brush Cutter?
    • A
      Ann MitchellAug 28, 2025
Excessive clutch slippage in your RHINO Brush Cutter can be due to several reasons. Badly worn clutch linings or warped plates require clutch repair as per the maintenance section of your manual. If you're using too much power for the clutch, reduce ground speed and material intake. Replace oil-contaminated facings, or clean glazed friction facings with emery cloth.

Why is my RHINO NITRO FN15 Brush Cutter leaving streaks in the swath?
    • H
      howardbrentAug 31, 2025
Streaking in the swath of your RHINO Brush Cutter can occur due to several factors. If conditions are too wet, allow the grass to dry before cutting. If the blades can't cut a part of the path, slow the tractor's ground speed while maintaining full PTO rpm. Adjust the tractor tires as wide as possible to allow wing blades to pick up grass. Sharpen or replace dull blades. Also, ensure the cutter height is even at the front and rear; refer to the Cutting Height Instructions for adjustment.

Why do the blades on my RHINO Brush Cutter wear out so fast?
    • R
      Richard PottsSep 3, 2025
If the blades on your RHINO Brush Cutter are wearing too quickly, it might be due to cutting in sandy or rocky conditions; increase the cutting height in these situations. Also, consider that soft, non-genuine blades may wear faster, so use genuine Rhino HT blades.

Why is the gearbox on my RHINO Brush Cutter so noisy?
    • L
      Laurie Horton DDSSep 5, 2025
A noisy gearbox in your RHINO Brush Cutter could be due to rough gears, which may improve with run-in or require gear replacement. Alternatively, a worn bearing could be the cause, necessitating bearing replacement.

What to do if the hydraulic cylinder on my RHINO NITRO FN15 won't operate?
    • K
      Kelly TaylorSep 8, 2025
If the hydraulic cylinder on your RHINO Brush Cutter isn't operating, first check the pressure to ensure it's sufficient. Next, verify that the valve is plumbed correctly. Finally, make sure the quick coupler is completely connected.

Why is oil squirting from the breather vent hole of my RHINO NITRO FN15 Brush Cutter?
    • B
      bcunninghamSep 12, 2025
If oil is squirting from the breather vent hole on your RHINO Brush Cutter (beyond a small normal amount), it could indicate several issues. Oil may be leaking past the piston ring, so avoid carrying the cutter on the cylinder. A worn piston 'O' ring should be replaced. A scored or pitted cylinder wall necessitates cylinder replacement. Ensure the correct piston ring is installed on the piston.
