Overview

This document describes the Ridge Ryder 24 Litre Thermo Cooler, an appliance designed for mobile use, capable of cooling and warming.

Function Description

The Ridge Ryder thermo cooler functions as a portable cooling and warming device. It is not intended to be used as a fridge/freezer. It can cool items down to a maximum of 25°C below the ambient temperature and warm them up to a maximum of 65°C. The actual performance may vary based on conditions such as voltage input, thermal load, ventilation, how often the cabinet is opened and closed, and the temperature of the goods inside. The minimum temperature achievable is dependent on the surrounding ambient/external temperature. For example, if the outside temperature is 30°C, the cooler's minimum temperature will be approximately 5°C. The thermocooler features an automatic voltage change-over function, prioritizing 240V power over 12V power. If 240V power is unavailable, it automatically selects 12V power.

    • Do NOT submerge or rinse the appliance under water, in a bowl, or sink.
    • Do NOT use abrasive cleaners or bleach.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues:
    • Appliance not functioning/internal fan not heard: Check if the display is on, check the input power source, inspect cable connections, check the fuse in the cigarette lighter tip (for 12V DC), ensure the ignition switch is on (for 12V DC in vehicles), check the 12V socket fuse, try an alternative 12V power supply, ensure the 240V lead is connected correctly, and confirm power is turned on.
    • Appliance not operating/display illuminated/internal fan heard: Check if the ambient temperature is above 35°C, move to a cooler location, ensure vents are not blocked, and remove some produce to reduce thermal mass.
    • Appliance not operating/internal fan not heard (Thermo-Electric system defective): Contact Customer Service.
    • Appliance not reaching set temperature: Move the appliance to a cooler area or change the temperature setting, as the unit is only capable of cooling 25°C below ambient or warming up to a max of 65°C.
  • Disposal: Dispose of packaging materials in appropriate recycling bins. For appliance disposal, contact your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details on applicable regulations.
