What to do if RIDGID Freezer pipe will not freeze?
    • A
      Ashley SmithAug 3, 2025
If the pipe on your RIDGID Freezer will not freeze, first check for water flow and stop it if it exists. Ensure the system is full of water. Use a water spray bottle or freeze gel to build an ice bridge, providing contact for heat transfer if there's poor contact between the heads and the pipe. If the freeze heads are too close to a circulating main, stop the flow in the circulating main. After freeze head is frozen to pipe, wrap with insulation.

      Tina LeeAug 22, 2025
Your RIDGID Freezer might be tripping due to several reasons. It could be due to a lack of proper, continuous power supply, or the compressor fan isn't running. Another cause might be that the unit has been stored in a cold location or has not been used for a long time. Overloading of the compressor can also cause tripping, so allow the system to cool off. Also, the compressor is thermally protected; it will take time for automatic restart.

Also, ensure that the unit has proper power supply without any interruption and that the compressor fan is running. Check for unrestricted air circulation to the condenser unit. Make sure the system is full of water and check for water flow in the pipe; if flow exists, stop it. Poor contact between heads and pipe can be solved using the water spray bottle or freeze gel to build an ice bridge and provide the contact for heat transfer. If the freeze heads are too close to circulating main, stop flow in circulating main. If the freeze head is frozen to pipe, wrap with insulation. If all of this doesn't help, allow the system to cool off, as overl...
