Usage Features:

  • Tool-Free Assembly: The system is designed for easy assembly and adjustment without the need for tools.
  • Multiple Configurations:
    • Mounted on the toilet, with or without backrest: The toilet seat and mounting bar can be attached to a standard toilet bowl. This configuration requires checking the toilet bowl and seat bolts for age or wear and ensuring the mounting bar is properly attached.
    • Over the toilet: The free-standing frame can be positioned over a toilet. The seat height and footboard can be adjusted.
    • Free standing unit as a shower chair: The system can be used independently as a shower chair, with adjustable seat height and footboard.
  • Adjustable Seat Depth: The Rifton toilet seat offers multiple seat depth settings (9", 11", 13¼", 13¾" for large seat; 9", 11" for small seat) to accommodate different users.
  • Deflector and Large Seat Cover: A deflector can be inserted into the seat aperture to prevent splashing and can be removed for cleaning. A large seat cover is available for cleaning or when the deflector is removed.
  • Armrests: Armrests can be pushed down and clipped securely into the side of the seat. They can be rotated to support the elbows, swap positions (right and left), and rotate the four armrest slots facing in. Armrests for the small seat and those for the large seat are not interchangeable.
  • Hip Strap and Hip Strap Clips: A hip strap provides additional support and can be easily removed and reinserted.
  • Frame: The frame has several slots to adjust the height of the seat and footboard. The seat assembly slides into one set of slots and is latched in place.
  • Casters: Corrosion-proof casters with a depressing lever allow for easy movement and locking of the system.
  • Mounting Bar: An optional mounting bar can be attached permanently to the toilet for stability when the system is used over a toilet.
  • Backs (High and Low): The system offers both high and low back options, each with two chest straps. The back can be attached horizontally using hook and loop fasteners and triggers, and the blue cover can be removed for cleaning. The back pivots into one of two sets of holes in the seat.
  • Adjusting the Back Angle: Two triggers allow for adjustment of the back angle to three tilt positions: 5° and 15° backward, and 5° forward.
  • Seat Pivot Block (Large Seat Only): The seat pivot block allows for positioning the back in the front holes or the rear holes, raising the back into position.
  • Anterior Support: The anterior support attaches to the armrests of the toilet seat and has four positions for the latches to engage in. The latch handle is used to pull the front of the anterior support to release it.
  • Footboard: The footboard slides into the bottom slots of the frame and has latches for adjustment. It can be pushed forward or pulled out. Footboard straps are available for foot positioning.
  • Abductor and Pan: An abductor can be slid into the guides beneath the seat to help position the user. A pan can be slid into the same channels from either the front or back. The pan can only be used on the free-standing frame.

  • Durability: The product is designed and tested for an expected life of 5 years, assuming proper use and maintenance. Regular maintenance and inspections are crucial.
