      Sherry RoseAug 2, 2025

Why Rigid Industries Portable Generator engine will not start?
    • P
      priceandrewAug 8, 2025
Your Rigid Industries Portable Generator might fail to start due to several reasons: there's no fuel, the gasoline is stale or contaminated with water, the lubricant level is low (the engine is equipped with Low Oil Shutoff), the fuel valve is OFF, the spark plug is faulty, fouled, or improperly gapped, the choke lever is in RUN position, the engine was stored without treating or draining gasoline, or the fuel filter is dirty. To resolve this, fill the fuel tank, drain the fuel system and refill with fresh fuel, check and replenish the engine lubricant, turn the fuel valve ON, replace the spark plug, move the choke lever to the START position, and replace the fuel filter.

Why does my Rigid Industries Portable Generator make a “spark knock” or “pinging” noise?
    • D
      Daniel CookAug 14, 2025
An occasional light knocking or pinging under a heavy load is usually not a cause for concern. However, if your Rigid Industries Portable Generator consistently knocks or pings under normal load at a steady engine speed, try switching to a different brand of gasoline with an octane rating of 86 or higher.

    • I
      isabelhayesAug 20, 2025
A Rigid Industries Portable Generator engine might be hard to start because of water in the gasoline or a weak spark at the spark plug. To fix this, drain the entire system and refill with fresh fuel. You may also need to replace the spark plug.

How to fix Rigid Industries Portable Generator engine that lacks power?
    • L
      lopezalexandraAug 27, 2025
If your Rigid Industries Portable Generator engine lacks power, the air filter may be dirty. Check the air filter element and clean or replace it as needed. Also, the engine may have been stored without treating or draining gasoline, or refueled with bad gasoline. In this case, drain the fuel and carburetor, then refuel with fresh gasoline.
