case of a fire!

14.1
Regular maintenance and Responsibility of boat owner/operator
The boat owner/operator shall:
-
have fire-fighting equipment checked at the intervals indicated on the equipment,
-
replace portable fire extinguishers, if expired or discharged, by devices of identical
firefighting capacity, and,
-
have fixed systems refilled or replaced when expired or discharged.
Never decrease the existing fire rating capacity!
It is the responsibility of the boat owner/operator to ensure that:
-
the fire-fighting equipment is readily accessible when the boat is occupied.
-
the members of the crew are informed about the location of the fire-fighting equipment and
the ventilation openings of the engine room.
