Overview

This document outlines the functions, usage features, and maintenance aspects of the RK61 keyboard.

Backlight Mode Introduction

The RK61 keyboard offers a variety of backlight modes to enhance the user experience. You can cycle through 17 different backlight modes by pressing FN + \. The specific number and visual effect of these modes may vary depending on the keyboard version, so users should refer to their actual product for precise details.

Controlling Backlight Brightness

To adjust the brightness of the keyboard's backlight, use the FN + { and FN + } key combinations. Pressing FN + { will increase the backlight brightness, while FN + } will decrease it, eventually turning the backlight off. There are four distinct levels of backlight brightness, in addition to the option to completely turn it off.

Controlling Backlight Speed

The speed of the backlight effects can also be adjusted. To increase the speed of the backlight, press FN + ;. To decrease the speed, press FN + '. Similar to brightness, there are four levels of backlight speed available for customization.

Multifunctional Key Description

The RK61 keyboard features a compact 61-key layout, where many keys have secondary functions accessible via the FN key. This allows for a broader range of commands despite the smaller form factor.

Accessing Second Functions

Many keys on the keyboard have a primary function and a secondary function. To activate the secondary function of a key, you typically press the FN key simultaneously with the desired key. For example, FN + 1 activates F1, FN + 2 activates F2, and so on, up to FN + 0 for F10, FN + - for F11, and FN + = for F12. Other keys like backspace, Y, U, I, H, J, K, N, M, ,, and . also have secondary functions such as Del, PrtSc, ScrLk, Pause, Insert, Home, PgUp, Del, End, and PgDn, respectively.

Arrow Keys Functionality

The arrow keys on the RK61 are integrated into other keys due to its compact design. To temporarily switch the W, A, S, D keys (or other designated keys) to function as arrow keys, press FN + Shift (using the Shift key on the right side of the keyboard). Once activated, these keys will perform arrow key functions. To revert them to their primary functions, press FN + Shift again. This feature allows for navigation without dedicated arrow keys.

Win Key Locking Control

To prevent accidental presses of the Windows key during gaming or other activities, the RK61 offers a Win Key locking feature. Press FN + A to lock the function of the WIN key. To unlock it and restore its functionality, press FN + A again.

System Mode Switching

The RK61 keyboard supports both Windows and Mac operating systems. Users can switch between these modes by pressing FN + A for Windows System Mode and FN + S for Mac System Mode. This ensures optimal key mapping and functionality for the respective operating system.

Combination Keys' Function Switching and Locking

The keyboard provides advanced control over its combination keys. Pressing FN + Ctrl (using the Ctrl key on the left side of the keyboard) will switch to activating the second function of most combination keys, excluding the arrow keys. Pressing FN + Ctrl a second time will restore the main functions of nine specific keys (Y, U, I, H, J, K, N, M, ,), while other combination keys will remain in their second function mode. Pressing FN + Ctrl a third time will restore all combination keys to their main functions. This allows users to customize which functions are prioritized based on their current task.

Wired/BT Mode Introduction

The RK61 is a versatile keyboard that supports both wired and Bluetooth (BT) connectivity. This dual-mode functionality provides flexibility for various usage scenarios.

Switching Between Wired and BT Mode

When the keyboard is connected to a computer via a data cable, you can switch between wired and BT modes. Press FN + Tab to switch the keyboard to use the wired mode. Press FN + Tab again to switch back to BT mode. This is particularly useful for seamless transitions between devices or for charging while still using the keyboard.

Entering Pairing Mode (Bluetooth)

To connect the RK61 keyboard to a Bluetooth device, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure the power switch on the back of the keyboard is in the "ON" position.
  2. Press FN + Tab to switch the keyboard to BT mode.
  3. Long press FN + P for 3 seconds to enter pairing status. During this time, the P key's backlight will continuously flicker, indicating that it is searching for a device.
  4. Once the Bluetooth device successfully pairs (the keyboard may appear as "Mantis Tek Keyboard" on your device), the P key's backlight will turn off, confirming a successful connection.

Switching Between Saved BT Devices

The RK61 keyboard can save up to three different Bluetooth devices, allowing for quick switching between them. To switch among these saved devices, press FN + Q, FN + W, or FN + E. When switching, the backlight will flicker continuously at a certain frequency and then turn off once the switch is successful. If a wireless device is not saved, you will need to press the corresponding key to initiate a new pairing process.

Charging Introduction

The RK61 keyboard is designed for convenient charging.

  • Charger Requirements: When charging with a wall charger, ensure it provides a voltage of 5V and a current of 1A.
  • Computer Charging: You can also charge the keyboard by plugging it directly into your computer via a USB cable.
  • Charging Indicator: During charging, the spacebar key will illuminate with a red light. This light will turn off once the keyboard is fully charged.
  • Charging Time: A full charge typically takes approximately 3 hours.

Energy-saving Features

To conserve battery life, the RK61 keyboard incorporates several energy-saving features in Bluetooth mode:

  • Backlight Auto-off: If there is no operation for 1 minute, the keyboard backlight will automatically turn off.
  • Standby Mode: After 5 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard will enter standby mode.
  • Deep Sleep Mode: If there is no operation for 10 minutes, the keyboard will enter deep sleep mode and disconnect from the Bluetooth device.
  • Waking the Keyboard: To wake the keyboard from deep sleep mode, simply tap any key. The keyboard will then attempt to reconnect to the last paired Bluetooth device within a second.
