Why is my Rochester Gauges 6200 gauge reading at some midpoint?
- RRyan BrownAug 12, 2025
If the Rochester Gauges Control Unit gauge reads at a midpoint regardless of the liquid level, it could be due to several reasons. The float or counterweight might be hitting internal obstructions; check for these and remove them. Alternatively, the float may be partially sunk because of a leak or improper counterbalancing; in this case, replace or rebalance the float. It is also possible that the float is hung or loose, so ensure it is secured. Another cause could be a dial pointer stuck due to damage or corrosion; try to unstick it or replace it. Also, check if an incorrect or modified float arm is installed and replace it with the correct one. Finally, inspect and fix the gear mechanism for any drag.
