What to do if I have rocker cover oil leaks in my Rotec Engine?

  If you're experiencing rocker cover oil leaks, consider these solutions: * Replace damaged gaskets, especially cork gaskets after repeated use. * Replace copper washers, as their sealing ability diminishes over time. * Ensure rocker covers have concave sealing faces for optimal tension on the gasket surface. Test this by placing the cover on a flat surface. * If necessary, carefully bend rocker covers to be concave using a shim or ruler and a press or vice. * Torque rocker cover screws (M6 X 25) to between 8 – 9 N·m (70 – 80 lbs·in) using a 5 mm hex key.

Why does my Rotec AEROSPORT R3600 have lower cylinder oil leaks?

  Lower cylinder oil leaks can occur for a few reasons. Oil may drain to the lower cylinders after shutdown. Also, oil can siphon from a high-mounted oil tank. To address these issues, you can attach containers on the exhaust pipes to catch draining oil, use an anti-drain back oil filter or oil shut-off tap between the oil tank and the oil pump. An electric oil scavenger pump can also help minimize oil loss by removing unwanted oil after shutdown.
