Why won't my Royal Prestige Electric Pressure Cooker open?
    • M
      mary15Aug 1, 2025
If your Royal Prestige Electric Pressure Cooker won't open, it's likely still pressurized. The indicator pin is probably still up. To fix this, take the pressure cooker off the heat, decompress it, and once the indicator pin goes down, rotate the knob to the “open” position.

If your Royal Prestige Electric Pressure Cooker isn't pressurizing, several factors could be at play. Here's what to check: * Ensure the knob is in the locked position. * Increase the temperature of your heat source. * Make sure you've added at least one cup of liquid. * Confirm the regulator and gasket are correctly positioned. * If the gasket is worn, replace it with Royal Prestige parts from the Service Center.

    • R
      Rebecca WilsonAug 14, 2025
If steam is escaping from the safety valve of your Royal Prestige Electric Pressure Cooker, the regulator valve may not be working correctly. Immediately turn off the heat source, rotate the regulator valve to the decompression position, and wait for the indicator pin to go down. If the indicator pin does not go down, do not attempt to open the pressure cooker. Once the indicator pin has gone down, open your pressure cooker and examine the safety devices; –If they are obstructed, clean them. You can then start using your pressure cooker again. If the problem persists, contact the Royal Prestige® Service Center. –If the safety devices are unobstructed or if you are in doubt, return your pressure cooker immediately to the Royal Prestige® Service Center (see back page).

If the lid gasket of your Royal Prestige Electric Pressure Cooker has come out of the pressure release window in the lid, it indicates that the other safety devices are not working. Remove the cooker from the heat source, rotate the regulator to the pressure release position, remove the lid, and clean the cooker out.
