Do you have a question about the Royal RPM 46/1 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The ROYAL RPM 46/1 petrol lawn mower is designed for private use in home and garden environments, with an annual operating time generally not exceeding 50 hours. It is not intended for commercial, trade, or industrial applications, including public facilities, sporting grounds, or agricultural/forestry use.

Function Description:

The lawn mower is equipped with a single-cylinder four-stroke engine with a displacement of 139 ccm. It features a motor start/stop lever (engine brake) that must be engaged before starting the engine. Releasing this lever automatically stops the engine and blade. A throttle lever allows for speed adjustment. The cutting height can be centrally adjusted using a lever, offering multiple height settings between 24-90 mm. The mower includes a grass bag for collecting clippings and an ejector flap. A starter cable is used for manual engine ignition.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Engine Type: Single-cylinder four-stroke engine, 139 ccm
  • Working Speed (no): 2850 ± 50 min⁻¹
  • Fuel: Petrol
  • Tank Capacity: approx. 1.2 l
  • Engine Oil: approx. 0.6 l / 10W30
  • Spark Plug: F6RTC
  • Electrode Gap: 0.5 - 0.6 mm
  • Cutting Height Adjustment: Central (24-90 mm)
  • Cutting Width: 460 mm
  • Weight: 29 kg
  • Sound Pressure Level (LpA): 83.3 dB(A)
  • Sound Power Level (LWA): 96 dB(A)
  • Vibration Emission Value (ah): 2.95 m/s²

Usage Features:

Before starting, ensure the engine is filled with oil and petrol, as it is supplied without these fluids. The push bar needs to be assembled and fixed at a comfortable height using screws and star nuts. The starter cord grip should be hooked into its designated position. Cable clips are provided to secure the control cables to the push bar. The grass bag is attached by lifting the ejector flap and hooking the bag onto the mower.

To start the engine, move the throttle lever to the desired position, pull the start/stop lever, and then vigorously pull the starter cable. For optimal cutting, the blade should be sharp and in good condition. Mow in straight lines, overlapping swaths by a few centimeters to avoid stripes. The underside of the mower housing should be kept clean to prevent grass build-up, which can hinder starting and affect cutting quality. When mowing on slopes, operate across the incline, not up or down, and maintain good footing. Avoid mowing on inclines exceeding 15 degrees.

The grass bag should be emptied when clippings start to trail the mower. Always switch off the engine and wait for the blade to stop before removing the grass bag. If grass remains in the chute opening, pulling the mower back about 1m can facilitate restarting.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is crucial for safe and efficient operation. Always switch off the engine and disconnect the spark plug boot before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or adjustments.

  • Cleaning: Clean the mower thoroughly after each use, especially the underside and blade mount. Tilt the mower onto its left side (opposite the oil filler neck) for easier access. Ensure the fuel tank is drained before tilting. Never use water jets or high-pressure cleaners.
  • Oil Level Check: Place the mower on a level surface. Unscrew the oil dipstick, wipe it clean, re-insert it without screwing, and check that the oil level is between the min and max marks.
  • Oil Change: Change the engine oil at room temperature. Drain warm, used oil into a drip tray and refill with new oil up to the top mark on the dipstick. Dispose of used oil according to regulations.
  • Cable Pulls: Lubricate cable pulls regularly and check for smooth movement.
  • Air Filter: Check the air filter frequently, especially in dusty conditions. Clean with compressed air or by tapping, never with petrol or flammable solvents.
  • Spark Plug: Clean the spark plug with a copper wire brush. Remove and re-install using a spark plug wrench.
  • Blades: Have blades sharpened, balanced, and mounted by an authorized service center annually. Replace damaged or bent blades with genuine spare parts.
  • Storage: Before long-term storage, drain the fuel tank using a petrol suction pump and run the engine until all remaining fuel is consumed. Change the engine oil. Remove the spark plug and add about 20 ml of oil to the cylinder, then slowly pull the starter handle to coat the cylinder wall. Clean the cooling fins and housing. Store the mower in a well-ventilated area.
  • Transport: For transport, drain the fuel tank and engine oil. Remove the spark plug boot. Unhook the starter cable, loosen the star nuts, and fold down the upper push bar, ensuring cables are not kinked. Use corrugated cardboard to protect parts from chafing.

Genuine spare parts are recommended for repairs. The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects for 24 months, wear parts for 6 months, and immediate defects for consumables (within 24 hours of purchase).
