2.3 BACKING UP FILES
Before updating the OS, it is very important to backup all files on the Field PC
2
.
Updating the OS will erase all programs and files from the Field PC
2
.
CAUTION: ONCE THE OS HAS BEEN UPDATES, ANY FILES THAT WERE NOT BACKED UP
ONTO THE PC OR LAPTOP WILL BE PERMANENTLY LOST.
2.4 RESTORING DEFAULT FACTORY SETTINGS
1. Connect the Field PC
2
to the power adaptor and a power source.
CAUTION: THE FIELD PC
2
MUST BE CONNECTED TO A POWER SOURCE IN ORDER FOR
THE UPGRADE TO PROCEED.
2. Double check that the Field PC
2
is still connected to the laptop or PC with a USB
cable. Wait for the Mobile Device Center to connect to the device. If it does not
start automatically, open the program from your desktop.
3. Hold the power button down until the blue screen appears (Figure 2-5). The unit
will restart a few times, but continue to hold the power button down until you see
the blue screen.
