ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Have the installer of the general power supply install an electrical box with a
two-pole differential 6 Ka - 30 mA 16 A magnetothermal switch and a power
indicator.
After checking that the magnetothermal switch is off, connect a mm
2
3x2.5
cable for the power supply and a mm
2
2x1.5 cable for remote control through
the derivation box.
Refer to the wiring diagrams provided with this manual for instructions on how
to connect them with the terminal board in the unit. Make sure there is a
ground connection.
Once the connections have been made, assembled the covers using the screws
provided, positioning the cover with the handle on the front side, the side clo-
sest to the operating area. Then insert the two-way coupling into the suction
connection (11).
Finally, assemble the tool holder support (19), if provided.
If the unit is mounted suspended from an adjustable arm, use the cables in the
arm. If the unit is mounted differently, the installer must provide the cables.
N.B.
The materials required for electrical connections are not supplied with the
unit, but must be provided by the installer of the power supply. Electrical con-
nections must be made by trained electricians.
PNEUMATIC CONNECTIONS
Install a 3/8 air treatment unit (18) with a central connection for dry air
upstream of the unit, connecting it with two air hoses, Ø 6 x 14 (25) for dry air
and 10 x 19 (24) for lubricated air, as shown in Fig. 1.
Now connect the two hoses protruding from the connection tube as follows:
- connect the Ø 10 x 19 hose to the hose connection Ø 12 (9), which supplies
the two couplings for pneumatic tools;
- connect the Ø 6 x 14 hose to the hose connection Ø 7 (10), which supplies
the utility air coupling.
Both hoses must be fastened in position using the clamps provided.
Refer to the pneumatic diagram provided with this manual illustrating connec-
tions specific to each model.
START-UP
Minimum power supply requisites and connections:
Electric mains
- Single phase 110/230 V line with a ground wire of adequate section;
- a 16 A 6Ka - 30 mA differential magnetothermal switch should be installed
upstream of the power outlet.
Compressed air mains
- Maximum operating pressure: 8 bar;
- must supply adequately filtered dehumidified air.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Electrical tool connections
- Insert the tool's plug into the socket on the unit;
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way link
using the sleeve;
- do not connect tools with loads over their rated capacity
(2x500 W max) to
the electrical sockets.
Pneumatic tool connections
- Connect the compressed air hose to the rapid fitting on the unit; connect the
other end to the tool;
- if the tool is equipped with a vacuum device, connect it to the 2-way link
using the sleeve (optional).
Preliminary checks
- Check that the dust bag is in the container and that the filter is assembled on
the head;
- check that the vacuum hose is properly fixed and does not hinder tool move-
ment;
- check that there are not leaks from the compressed air supply system.
Only after having performed connections should you proceed with a brief operating
trial of the tools following their instructions.
UNIT USE
Manual operations
The machine operates in manual mode: turn the switch (21) to start the dust
vacuum turbine.
Automatic operations
EP3A and EP3C are equipped with sensor for automatic operations: the turbine
automatically starts when the electric or pneumatic tool is turned on. When
finished, turn the tool off and the turbine will stop automatically after 1 minute.
Additionally, unit versions “C” are equipped with an automatic vacuum flow
cut-off system (CUT-OFF).
MAINTENANCE
The manufacturer or an authorised representative must carry out a technical
operating inspection of the machine controls and check for any damage to the
machine's filtering system at least once a year. RUPES Spa is not liable for
any direct or indirect damages due to failure to comply with the instructions
provided in this manual.
ORDINARY MAINTENANCE (to be performed by the user)
- inspect compressed air supply hoses and connections;
- inspect dust suction hoses.
EXTRAORDINARY MAINTENANCE (to be performed by the service centre)
- Periodically inspect the electric wires and plugs. If they are faulty or worn,
replace them;
- periodically inspect the compressed air hoses and connections.
