The Rx Clear® Niagara Rapids™ Submersible Cover Pump is designed for residential swimming pools and sumps, offering a reliable solution for water removal. This pump is specifically engineered to handle water from pool covers and sumps, ensuring crystal clear water.
The primary function of the Rx Clear® Niagara Rapids™ pump is to remove unwanted water from residential swimming pools and sumps. It operates by submerging into the water and pumping it away through a connected discharge hose. The pump is equipped with an automatic reset thermal protector, which safeguards the motor by cutting off power if the temperature rises unduly. Once the motor cools sufficiently, the switch resets automatically, and the motor restarts. This feature prevents damage to the motor from overheating. The pump is designed to pump down to approximately ¼" (6mm) of water, but it should not be allowed to run without at least 5-½" of water to prevent damage to the shaft seal, which relies on water for lubrication. It is crucial not to use this pump for applications involving salt water or brine, as this will void the warranty. It is also not designed as a waterfall or fountain pump.
