Do you have a question about the RynoWorx AirBoss 575 and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The RynoWorx AirBoss 575 / 750-V1 is a spray system designed for applying sealcoat products, such as refined coal tar and asphalt emulsion sealers. It is available in both skid and trailer-mounted configurations, with various packages offering different features and capacities. The system is designed for outdoor use and emphasizes safety, requiring users to wear personal protective equipment and adhere to strict operational and maintenance guidelines.

Function Description:

The AirBoss system primarily functions as a sealcoat sprayer, utilizing a compressor and a diaphragm pump to deliver sealants through a spray wand. Key operational modes include:

  • Main Tank Feeding: The primary mode of operation, drawing sealant directly from the main tank.
  • Secondary Input Source/Transfer: Allows refilling the main tank from external sources like barrels or totes, or spraying directly from these secondary sources.
  • Manual Emptying: Enables draining the main tank's contents.
  • Recirculation Mode: Mixes the sealant within the main tank using hydraulic agitation to ensure uniform consistency and prevent aggregate settling. This is crucial before starting work.
  • Spray Mode: The main operational mode for applying sealant through the spray wand.
  • Transferring Sealer: Dedicated procedures for transferring sealant from drums or totes into the main tank, requiring specific valve configurations and mixing.

The system incorporates an auto idle throttle control (kick-down) that lowers the engine RPM when compressor tanks are full, automatically reducing engine speed once the target PSI is achieved. Manual cycling of the kick-down is possible for testing. Hydraulic agitation is used to mix the sealant, with controls for forward, off, and reverse rotation of the mixing paddles.

Trailer-mounted systems, like the 750 Elite Spray System with Extended Trailer Package C (RA-TSY-0066), have additional specifications:

  • System Dimensions: 244 x 88 x 93".
  • GVWR: 15,600 lbs.
  • Axle Capacity: 2 x 7,225 lbs E-Z Lube.
  • Water Tank Size: 60 Gallons (if equipped).
  • Water Spray Hose: 50' (if equipped).
  • Deck Size: 80x67".
  • # Deck Tie Downs: 9.
  • Ramp Size/Type: 72x38" Checker plate.
  • Hitch Size: 2 5/16".
  • Tire Size: ST 235/85R16.

Usage Features:

  • Pre-Operation Checks: Before each use, users must check engine, compressor, FRL, and hydraulic oil levels, and ensure all seals and clamps are tightened.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always required, including eye protection, gloves, hearing protection, boots, long pants, and long sleeves.
  • Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS): Users must read SDS for sealers to understand health risks.
  • Water Testing: The system should be tested with water before using sealant to check for leaks.
  • Spray Tip Selection: Different tips are available for varying spray fan angles and flow rates, adjustable by regulator pressure.
  • Filter Basket Use: Larger baskets are recommended for emulsion and sealers with more solids, smaller for coal tar sealers.
  • Compressor Operation: Features auto idle kick-down to conserve fuel and reduce wear. Regulators for extra air lines/tools are separate from the main FRL regulator.
  • Expansion Tank: Pre-charged to 50 psi to minimize pump pulses, adjustable via a Schrader valve.
  • Airline Valve: A ball valve controls air flow to the diaphragm pump; must be open during operation and closed when not in use.
  • FRL (Filter, Regulator, Lubricator): Filters water, regulates air pressure, and lubricates pneumatic parts. Water reservoir must be emptied daily, and lubricator refilled periodically. This is the master regulator for factory-attached equipment.
  • Valve System: Uses ball valves for durability and ease of operation. Handles parallel to plumbing are open, perpendicular are closed. All valves should be closed during transport.
  • Powered Hose Reel (If Equipped): Pneumatically powered, with a regulator set to 10-15 psi max to prevent damage or injury.
  • Hydraulic Agitation: Used to mix sealant in the tank, with forward, off, and reverse settings.
  • Muffler Drain Valve: Drains moisture collected in the muffler plumbing, to be done regularly.
  • Water Pump & Tanks (If Equipped): Controlled by a valve on the FRL, with a water fill port on the trailer deck. The water pump regulator should be set to 20 psi.
  • Engine Starting: Detailed procedure for starting the Kohler CH440 engine, including choke, fuel, and key positions. Emphasizes connecting hydraulic lines to prevent starter damage.
