How to fix Ryobi RY34426 Trimmer when engine will not start?
    • E
      eugene79Aug 13, 2025
If your Ryobi Trimmer's engine won't start, it could be due to several reasons: no spark, no fuel, or a flooded engine. Try these steps: Clean or replace the spark plug and reset the spark plug gap. Push the primer bulb until it's full of fuel. If it doesn't fill, the primary fuel delivery system might be blocked, and you should contact a service dealer. If the primer bulb does fill, the engine might be flooded. Set the start lever to the START position, squeeze the trigger, and pull the rope repeatedly until the engine starts. Note that if the engine is severely flooded, it might require numerous pulls.

    • R
      Rachel CollinsAug 17, 2025
If the line on your Ryobi Trimmer won't advance, here are some possible causes and solutions: * The line is welded to itself: Replace the line. * There's not enough line on the spool: Install more line. * The line is worn too short: Pull the lines while alternately pressing down on and releasing the spool retainer. * The line is tangled on the spool: Remove the line from the spool and rewind it. * The engine speed is too slow: Advance the line at full throttle.

Why does my Ryobi RY34426 engine not reach full speed and emits excessive smoke?
    • W
      wwebbAug 20, 2025
If your Ryobi Trimmer engine doesn't reach full speed and emits excessive smoke, the causes might be a dirty air filter screen, a dirty spark arrestor screen, or a fouled spark plug. To resolve this, clean the air filter screen. Contact a servicing dealer regarding the spark arrestor screen. Also, clean or replace the spark plug and reset the spark plug gap.

      xfoxAug 25, 2025
If your Ryobi Trimmer is emitting too much smoke, it's likely due to too much oil in the crankcase. To fix this, drain the lubricant and refill it with the correct amount of 10W-30 engine lubricant.

Why engine rope cannot be pulled on my Ryobi RY34426 Trimmer?
    • J
      Jesse CraneAug 27, 2025
If the engine rope on your Ryobi Trimmer cannot be pulled, it's likely because oil has entered the combustion chamber. This often happens when the unit is stored upside down for a long time. To fix this, remove and clean the spark plug, drain the oil out of the spark plug hole, and then reinstall the spark plug. Before starting, check the engine lubricant and add more if needed.
