For all
other
exterior
lamps
, loosen
th
e
retaining
screws
and
remove
the
lens,
making
sure
the
new
bulb
is securely in
place
an
d
makes
good contact. Wipe
off
th
e
lamp
assemb
ly
and
replace
len
s, fitting it to
th
e gasket evenly
and
securely.
Instrument
illumination,
control
illu-
mination
and
indicator
warning
lights
All
the
bulbs
in
the
instrument
as
s
em
bl
y
are
mounted
in
bayonet
fittings
and
are
accessible
from
the
back
of
the
panel.
The
bulb
for
headlight
switch
illumination
is
loc
ated
within
the
switch.
Fuses
The
fuses
are
housed
in
the
fuse box, lo-
cated
on
the
left-h
and
side
of
the
engine
compartment.
A special in-line fuse (SA
ceramic)
protects
the
oxygen sensor
pre-heater
wire
on 16
valve
models.
Spare fuses
are
held
in
the
front
end
of
the fuse box. A defective
S G 242
("blown")
fuse is
identifiable
by
the
fact
that
the
wire
will
have
melted.
To check a
fuse, the fuse
must
first
be
removed
from
the fuse box.
The
t
ab
le identifies
the
fuses
for
the
differ
en
t e
lectric
al systems.
To
facilitate
the
removal
offuses
from
t
he
fuse
box, a special tool is
provided
in
the
fuse
box.
It
is
locat
ed
imm
ed
iately
adjacent
to
the
three
fuse rows.
Push
the
tool
onto
th
e
fuse
and
pull
it
straight
up.
When
changing
fuses,
make
sure
that
the
new
fuse
has
the
same
rating
as
the
old
one
(see
table).
