1. Read all instructions and save for future reference.

6. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance
has malfunctioned, is dropped or is damaged in any manner. Return appliance to
the nearest authorised service centre for examination and / or repair.
7. This appliance is not meant for use outdoors.
8. Do not let cord hang over edge of a table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
9. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.
10.To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet.
11.Do not use appliance for anything other than the manufacturers intended use.
12. The bread lift carriage must always be elevated before you plug in or remove
from the wall socket.
USING YOUR SALTON ELITE TOASTER
1. Before using for the first time, wipe the surface of the toaster with a soft damp
cloth. Use the toaster without bread for the first time. Plug in the toaster, press down
the bread carriage and put the browning control to the maximum position. This will
ensure that you burn any dust that may have fallen into the toaster during production
or transport.
You may notice a slight smell or even a little smoke during this initial use.
2. To begin toasting, plug in the toaster, choose the required browning selection,
place the bread in the slots and press down the bread carriage handle until it clicks.
The heating element is now activated and the bread is automatically centered by the
centering guides to ensure even browning.
3. The toasted bread will pop up automatically when the selected time has elapsed.
The browning selection to be used will depend on personal taste and preference.
4. If needed, you can use the extra bread lift to remove the bread from the toaster,
simply lift the carriage handle upwards, this will elevate the toast an extra 2cm for
easy removal.
5. The cancel button can be used at any time during the cycle to cancel toasting.
6. Using the defrost feature, if you need to defrost frozen bread, select the defrost
button (the light will go on), place the frozen bread into the toaster and press down
the carriage handle, the bread will pop up once toasted and the defrost light will go
out.
