Overview

This document is a user manual for a Samsung Window-type Room Air Conditioner (Cooling). It provides instructions for operation, programming, and maintenance, along with safety precautions and technical specifications.

Function Description:

The Samsung Window-type Room Air Conditioner is designed to cool a room, provide air circulation (fan mode), and remove excess humidity (dry mode). It features various operational modes and programmable settings to enhance user comfort and energy efficiency.

The air conditioner models covered by this manual are categorized by their power supply:

  • 115V~, 60Hz models: AW0503B, AW0505B, AW0509B, AW0603B, AW0605B, AW0609B, AW0803B, AW0805B, AW0809B, AW089CB, AW1003B, AW1005B, AW1009B, AW109CB, AW1203B, AW1205B, AW1209B, AW129CB, AW1403B, AW1409B, AW140CB, AW10NCB7, AW12NCB7, AW14NCB7.
  • 230-208V~, 60Hz models: AW1803B, AW1805B, AW1809B, AW189CB, AW2402B, AW2404B, AW2406B, AW18NCB7.

The operating temperature and humidity ranges are crucial for optimal performance:

  • Indoor Temperature: 70°F to 90°F approx.
  • Outdoor Temperature: 70°F to 110°F approx.
  • Indoor Humidity: 80% or less. Operating outside these ranges can trigger automatic protection features, stop the air conditioner, cause water leakage due to heat exchanger freezing, or lead to condensation dripping from the unit.

Usage Features:

The air conditioner can be controlled via a remote control or buttons on the unit's control panel.

Cooling Your Room:

  • To lower the room temperature, select the "Cool" mode.
  • Press the On/Off button to start the unit in Cool mode.
  • If the temperature is not displayed, press the "Cool" button on the remote or the Mode button on the unit until the temperature appears.
  • Temperature can be adjusted between 64°F and 86°F using the Temp. Up/Down buttons. Each press adjusts the temperature by 1°F.
  • Fan speed can be set to High, Med, or Low using the remote control or the Fan Speed button on the unit (F1, F2, or F3).
  • The unit has a 3-minute protection mechanism to prevent damage if started immediately after being plugged in or stopped.

Airing Your Room (Fan Mode):

  • To circulate air without cooling, use the "Fan" mode.
  • Press the On/Off button to start.
  • If the fan speed is not displayed, press the "Fan" button on the remote or the Mode button on the unit until the fan speed (F1, F2, or F3) appears.
  • Fan speed can be adjusted to High, Med, or Low.
  • In Fan mode, temperature cannot be set or displayed.

Removing Excess Humidity (Dry Mode):

  • To reduce humidity without significant temperature drop, use the "Dry" mode.
  • Press the On/Off button to start.
  • If the temperature is not displayed, press the "Dry" button on the remote or the Mode button on the unit until the temperature appears.
  • Temperature can be adjusted between 64°F and 86°F. The air conditioner automatically adjusts the quantity of air.

Adjusting Air Flow Direction:

  • Horizontally: Inner air flow blades (right/left orientation) can be adjusted by sliding them side to side.
  • Vertically: Outer air flow blades (up/down orientation) can be adjusted by pushing them upwards or downwards (except for models AW0503B, AW0505B, AW0509B, AW0603B, AW0605B, AW0609B). For cooling, it is recommended to adjust blades upwards to prevent dew formation and dripping.
