USING THE ICE/WATER SUPPLIER
(DISPENSER)
Selecting the function1.
In the home screen, select the dispenser icon. -
In screens other than the home screen, select
the small dispenser icon ( ) at the top
right.
Select a function and touch the close button. -
Extracting ice or water2.
To extract ice, press the button -
slightly with the cup.
The cubed ice is in the shape
of half moons and the crushed
ice consists of fragments of the
cubed ice.
When you extract ice, move the cup close to
the dispenser so that ice does not fall onto the
fl oor.
To extract water, also press the button with the -
cup slightly.
To extract both water and ice, extract ice fi rst
and then extract water.
Do not extract ice into a thin glass cup or •
ceramic container.
This may result in the ice breaking the
glass or ceramic container.
If discolored ice is extracted, stop using •
the product and contact the Samsung
Electronics service center.
Dispenser tips3.
Discard 6 cups of water before drinking any -
water when using the product for the fi rst time.
The water extracted at fi rst may have a plastic
smell.
Even if the refrigerator is running continuously, -
the water extracted at fi rst may not be cold.
If you extract ice and then water, you can
extract cold water.
You can extract up to 6 cups of cold water and -
you can then extract cold water again after 2~3
hours.
After installing the refrigerator, ice is produced -
after about 12 hours.
The required time to generate ice may differ -
depending on the number of times the door is
opened and the operating conditions.
If you do not extract ice frequently, the ice may -
melt and stick together, and the ice dispenser
may not work properly.
In this case, remove any ice stuck in the ice
storage.
HOW TO REPLACE WATER-
PURIFYING FILTER
Have a knowledge of water-purifying fi lter.
What is Water-Purifying Filter?
It is a parts fi ltering impurities that are
bad for human being such as chlorine
and its smell and offensive taste
contained in tap water.
Filtrate and Purifying Effect
Filtrate of water-purifying fi lter is made from •
vegetable active carbon. Purifying Effect.
It is NSF (National Science Foundation) -
certifi ed, and meets a standard requirement for
food safety of NSF 42,53.
