Overview

Sangamo 71101 - Time Switch with Astro Function - 17.5mm

The Sangamo 71101 is a sophisticated time switch designed for precise control of electrical equipment, featuring an integrated Astro function for automatic adjustment based on sunrise and sunset. This 17.5mm device is intended for installation and assembly by skilled personnel only, emphasizing safety precautions against electrical shock and fire hazards.

Function Description

The core function of the 71101 is to provide timed switching of electrical channels. It operates in an "Automatic Mode" by default, executing pre-programmed switching steps. Users can access an "Enter-mode" to program, adjust settings, and configure options.

Key Functions:

  • Automatic Mode (M): Accesses the Enter-mode for programming, adjustments, and options.
  • Manual Override (A): Switches the channel ON or OFF until the next programming step. This creates a "temporary over-ride" indicated by a hand symbol.
  • Permanent Switching (P): By pressing 'A' for more than 3 seconds, the channel can be permanently switched ON or OFF until the action is repeated.
  • Activation (OK): Activates the time switch when operated without power supply. Also used to confirm selections or entered data in Menu/Enter-Mode.
  • Navigation (-/+): Adjusts flashing digits, scrolls through choices in Menu/Enter-Mode.
  • Back (M): Reverts to the beginning of the current (sub-) menu.

Astro Function: The Astro function is a standout feature, allowing the time switch to automatically adjust ON/OFF times based on local sunrise and sunset. This is particularly useful for lighting applications. Users can choose to pre-program Astro settings for the entire week with no offset, or customize them using the "Program Modify" function. Geographical position can be set by selecting a "location" (pre-defined countries & cities) or by entering "co-ordinates" (longitude and latitude data). An optional offset (e.g., -20 minutes before sunset) can be applied to Astro ON/OFF times.

Programming Modes:

  • New Program: Allows creation of new switching programs. This includes Astro programs, "Extra Switching Time" programs (for non-Astro applications), and "Permanent" programs (holiday function).
  • Program Query: Displays existing programming steps and remaining memory locations.
  • Program Modify: Enables modification of individual switching times within an existing program.
  • Program Delete: Facilitates deletion of switching times for all channels, single channels, or specific programming steps within a channel.

Holiday Program: A single permanent-by-date programming step can be set for holidays. During the specified period, the channel can be switched off (permanent off) or on (permanent on). This holiday setting can be modified or deleted via "Program Modify" and "Program Delete" respectively.

Extra Switching Time: This feature allows programming additional switching times, functioning as a standard weekly ON/OFF program. It's useful for applications not requiring the Astro function. This feature must be activated within the "Menu Options" before it becomes available in the "New Program" menu.

Block Programming: Allows activation or deactivation of switching times for specific weekdays (1-7). Users can change "yes" to "no" for each day using the +/- keys.
