a. HEAD REPLACEMENT AND AZIMUTH ADJUSTMENT
(a) Head Replacement

18 ~ thick (A-BEX SSC-1582, etc.)
Frequency of Recorded Linear Sweep
Signal :4,575-3,925 Hz
Recording Lebel :-10 dB
Recording Time :84.5 sec.
Recording Tape speed :4.75 cm I sec.
● After replacement, demagnetize the heads by using a

head eraser.
● Be sure to clean the heads before attempting to make

any adjustment.

(b) Head Azimuth Adjustment
(1) Load the test tape (A-BEX SSC-1 584, etc.) for azimuth
adjustment.
(2) Press the PLAY button.
(3) Use a cross-tip screwdriver to turn the screw for
azimuth adjustment so that the outputs maximized.
(4) After completion of the adjustment, use thread lock
(TB-1 401 B) to secure the azimuth-adjustment screw.
b. MOTOR SPEED ADJUSTMENT
(1) Insert the test tape (A-BEX SSC-1 582, etc.).
(2) Press the PLAY button.
(3) Use a cross-tip screwdriver to turn the P501 to adjust
so that the frequency counter becomes 3,000 Hz.
c. CHECKING THE MECHANISM TORQUES
(1) Play mode . . . . . . . . more than 40 g-cm
(2) Fast Forward mode . more than 45 g-cm
(3) Rewind mode . . . . . more than 40 g-cm
