Overview

The Arium® Smart Station is a dispensing unit designed for use with Arium® water treatment devices or Arium® Bagtanks, providing either pure or ultrapure water in laboratory settings. It can be operated as a benchtop unit or with a wall mounting bracket. Up to three dispensing units can be connected in series to an Arium® water treatment device.

Function Description

The device controls the dispensing of water, offering both manual and volume-controlled dispensing modes. The hand-held part features a touch sensor and buttons for starting/stopping dispensing, adjusting flow speed, and selecting pre-defined volume levels. The control unit displays system operation information, allows for system settings, and guides through maintenance steps via a touch-sensitive operating display.

In dispensing mode, the display shows information from the connected water treatment device, such as water type (ultrapure or pure), temperature, conductivity, and TOC value (if available). For "Ultrapure" versions, the display shows current measured values, while for "Pure" versions, it shows values obtained during the last water production. The status bar indicates the water type and if messages are saved. A function bar displays available operating functions, and a menu button opens the main menu for settings and maintenance.

The device supports different user roles: "User" (without PIN protection) for dispensing and basic settings, and "Administrator" for full system settings and maintenance. Messages are displayed in dispensing mode, with a message list accessible for multiple active messages. Error messages prevent dispensing.

The Arium® Smart Station includes various connections:

  • Water Connections: "Inlet" for feed water from an Arium® water treatment device or Bagtank, and "Outlet" (for "Ultrapure" version only) for connecting to another Arium® Smart Station or the water treatment device. There are also "Red" and "Blue" hand-held part connections for the outlet and feed water tubes, respectively. Clips secure protective tubing.
  • Electrical Connections: Hand-held part connection to the control unit, two Ethernet ports ("A" and "B") for connecting to an Arium® water treatment device or another Smart Station, a USB-C port for accessories (printers, USB mass storage devices), and a power supply connection.
