Overview

This document is the user manual for the S3-Series 2 Person Infrared Sauna, which includes a touchpad and Bluetooth functionality. The model numbers covered are IG-820-SH and S820.

Function Description

The S3-Series Infrared Sauna is designed to provide a personal infrared sauna experience for two people. It utilizes CarbonFlex™ emitters to generate infrared heat, which is absorbed by the body to induce perspiration and relaxation. The sauna features a control panel for managing temperature, time, lighting, and an integrated audio system with Bluetooth connectivity. The primary function is to offer a therapeutic heat experience, promoting relaxation and well-being.

Important Technical Specifications

Electrical Requirements:

  • The sauna is designed for a 120 Volt AC / 15 or 20 Amp Circuit Breaker.
  • A 120 Volt AC (dedicated) circuit is recommended to prevent unnecessary tripping of the breaker.
  • The sauna should be plugged into a NEMA (5-15R or 5-20R) Amp electrical outlet.
  • Specific models and their amp requirements are:
    • IG 810SH: 15 Amp
    • IG 820SH: 15 Amp
    • IG 825SH: 20 Amp
    • IG 830SH: 20 Amp
    • IG 840SH: 20 Amp
    • IG 870SH: 15 Amp
    • IG 880SH: 20 Amp
  • It is crucial to plug the sauna into a dedicated outlet of the correct rating to avoid poor performance, circuit breaker tripping, or overheating of the circuit.

Heating Elements:

  • The sauna utilizes CarbonFlex™ emitters.
  • Floor heaters are integrated into the floor panel, indicated by ceramic tiles.

Dimensions and Construction:

  • The sauna consists of several panels: Floor, Ceiling, Bench Skirt, Bench, Left Wall, Right Wall, Front Wall, and Back Wall.
  • The Front Wall includes a glass assembly, which is noted as heavy and fragile.
  • The room must be installed on a flat, level surface.

Safety Features:

  • Proper electrical grounding is required.
  • Electrical receptacles are not allowed inside the room.
  • Water should not be applied to any heating element.
  • No locking or latching system should be added to the door.
  • Ventilation openings must not be blocked.
  • Children must be supervised at all times.
  • A GFCI (Ground Fault Interrupt Circuit) device is not required by NEC but may be installed if local codes require it, though it may nuisance trip.
  • Loose wire connections can cause heat damage and may void the warranty.
  • The manual warns against prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures, which can cause hyperthermia, and advises consulting a physician if you have health problems.
  • Alcohol or drug use increases the risk of fatal hyperthermia.
  • The sauna room should not be used for drying clothes or hanging objects on heater grills.
  • Never operate the sauna with a damaged cord or plug.

Sauna Use Guidelines:

  • Avoid large meals and excessive alcohol before use.
  • Do not smoke, drink alcohol, or exercise inside the sauna.
  • Consult a physician if taking medications or having health conditions.
  • Take a warm shower before a session, if possible, without drying.
  • Clothing is optional; wear loose-fitting clothes or use a clean soft towel.
  • Set desired time and temperature.
  • The sauna produces effective wavelengths within 10-15 minutes; waiting for maximum temperature is not necessary.
  • Enter and relax, enjoying music or color therapy.
  • Close the door and open the interior ceiling vent for fresh air.
  • Remain in the sauna long enough to warm up and perspire (typically 10-15 minutes).
  • Drink plenty of cool water or healthy drinks.
  • Leave the sauna, cool down (shower/bathe if possible), and then re-enter for another 10-15 minute session. Repeat 3-4 cycles.
  • After the final session, turn off the sauna, open the door, and clean the walls, bench, and floor with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Enjoy a final shower/bath and relax in the "after sauna glow."

Maintenance Features

General Cleaning:

  • DO NOT USE: Alcohol or any strong cleaning chemicals, as they can damage the clear finish and wood surfaces.
  • Interior: Perspiration and dirt may absorb into the wood. Periodic cleaning is needed. Scrub benches, back supports, floorboards, and walls with a stiff brush and mild detergent. Light sanding is another option for cleaning interior surfaces.
  • Exterior: Use a damp cloth with mild soap and warm water.

  • Door Rubbing or Binding:
    • Ensure the room is assembled properly, with all walls and ceiling interlocked.
