Overview

The SAURIUM YR-MT520 is a 52cc gasoline multi-brush cutter, designed for non-professional use, offering a 24-month warranty. This versatile tool is capable of performing various cutting tasks with different attachments, including brush cutting, pole pruning, and hedge trimming.

Function Description:

The YR-MT520 is a multi-function tool powered by a 52cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 2-stroke engine (model YR1E44F). It is designed to handle a range of outdoor cutting tasks by interchanging different attachments. The main functions include:

  • Brush Cutter: Used for cutting grass, weeds, and thicker brush with either a metal blade or a nylon line.
  • Pole Pruner: Designed for pruning branches, especially those at height, with a chainsaw attachment.
  • Hedge Trimmer: Used for trimming hedges and shrubs with a reciprocating blade attachment.

Usage Features:

The YR-MT520 is designed for ease of use and versatility.

  • Assembly: The powerhead, lower tube, and upper tube assemblies are connected using a clamp screw and latch protector mechanism. The throttle cable and switch wires are connected to the main unit.
  • Throttle Control: The throttle cable has an adjuster nut to ensure proper tension, allowing for a 6mm free play at the throttle trigger. The throttle trigger has "Idle," "Stop," and "Full Throttle" positions.
  • Fueling: The engine requires a 25:1 mixture of unleaded gasoline (87 octane or higher) and 2-stroke engine oil. It is crucial to mix only the necessary amount of fuel for immediate use and to avoid storing fuel for extended periods. Fueling should be done in a well-ventilated area, away from heat sources and open flames, with the engine cooled down.
  • Starting: For a cold engine, the throttle trigger should be set to "fast idle," the primer bulb pressed several times until fuel is visible, and the choke lever moved to the "closed" position. The ignition switch is a two-position START-STOP switch ("I" for START, "O" for STOP). The recoil starter cord is pulled to start the engine. For a warm engine, the choke lever is moved to the "open" position.
  • Stopping: The engine should be allowed to idle for two to three minutes before sliding the ignition switch to the "O" (STOP) position.
  • Carburetor Adjustment: The carburetor's mixture cannot be adjusted. The idle speed can be adjusted via a screw to prevent the cutting attachment from rotating at idle.
  • Brush Cutter Operation: When using the metal blade, cutting should be guided from right to left. For tougher brush, a high speed is recommended. The nylon line consumes more power, so the engine rotation should be 50% higher than with the metal blade. Avoid cutting with an excessively long nylon line to prevent reduced rotation and premature wear.
  • Pole Pruner Operation: The pole pruner is used to cut branches. It is important to maintain a stable posture and avoid cutting branches above head height. The chain tension must be checked and adjusted regularly. The oil flow rate for chain lubrication can be adjusted.
  • Hedge Trimmer Operation: The hedge trimmer attachment can be adjusted to 10 different positions (120° to 270° from the outer tube) for various cutting angles. Vertical cuts are made by swinging the blade up and down in an arc, while horizontal cuts are made by swinging the hedge trimmer horizontally, directing cuttings to the ground.

Maintenance Features:

Regular maintenance is essential for the safe and efficient operation of the YR-MT520.

  • Daily Maintenance:
    • Clean dirt and debris from the engine, cooling fins, and air filter.
    • Inspect the spark plug and connections for tightness and cleanliness.
    • Clean and lubricate the hedge trimmer blades before and after use.
    • Check for loose screws, nuts, and bolts.
    • Verify that the cutting attachment is securely fastened and free of debris.
    • Check for fuel or lubricant leaks.
  • 10-Hour Maintenance (or more frequently in dusty conditions):
    • Remove and clean the air cleaner element with soap and water, rinse, dry thoroughly, and add a few drops of oil before reassembling.
  • 10-15 Hour Maintenance:
    • Remove and clean the spark plug. Adjust the spark plug gap to 0.6-0.7mm. Replace if necessary.
    • Lubricate the cutter assembly gearbox by pumping grease into the fitting using a lever-type grease gun.
  • 50-Hour Maintenance (or more frequently in dusty or dirty conditions):
    • Remove and clean the cylinder cover and cooling fins.
    • Remove the sprocket cover and inspect the sprocket for excessive wear; replace if necessary.
    • Lubricate the gearcase by removing the outer tube and pumping grease into the fitting until old grease is expelled.
    • Inspect the fuel filter by extracting it from the fuel tank with a hooked wire. Replace if contaminated.
  • Chain Sharpening (Pole Pruner): The chain cutters should be sharpened with a 4.5mm round file at a 30° angle. The depth gauge should be checked and filed to 0.5mm using a flat file.
  • Long-Term Storage (30 days or more):
    • Clean all external parts and apply a light coating of oil to metal surfaces.
    • Drain all fuel from the carburetor and fuel tank.
    • Remove the spark plug, add 1-2cc of 2-stroke oil into the cylinder, pull the recoil starter 2-3 times to distribute the oil, and reinstall the spark plug.
    • Inspect and repair or replace any worn or damaged parts.
    • Clean the air filter element.
    • Store the machine in a clean, dust-free area.

Safety Precautions:

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (helmet, eye protection, hearing protection, gloves, non-slip footwear).
  • Maintain a safe working distance of at least 15 meters from bystanders.
  • Never operate the machine under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or when fatigued.
  • Avoid working in poor visibility or adverse weather conditions.
  • Ensure all attachments are correctly installed and secured.
  • Never attempt to modify the machine or its safety devices.
  • Always stop the engine before performing any maintenance, adjustments, or clearing blockages.
  • Be aware of kickback when using the brush cutter and pole pruner.
  • Never touch the spark plug, electrical wires, or hot exhaust/engine parts during or immediately after operation.
  • Do not cut branches above head height with the pole pruner.
  • Always secure the machine during transport.
