This document is an installation and user guide for the Sauter SFE 701 oven. It provides comprehensive information on the appliance's features, installation, operation, and maintenance.
Function Description
The Sauter SFE 701 is an electric oven designed for domestic use, primarily for cooking foodstuffs. It offers various cooking modes to cater to different culinary needs, including:
- Circulating Heat: This mode utilizes a heating element at the back of the oven and a fan for even heat distribution. It's recommended for preserving the tenderness of meats, vegetables, and fish, and for multi-level cooking. Preheating is generally unnecessary, except for very short cooking programs like biscuits on multiple levels. The recommended temperature range is 180°C (Min. 35°C - Max. 235°C).
- Traditional: This mode uses upper and lower heating elements without a fan. It requires preheating before placing the dish in the oven. It's ideal for slow, gentle cooking, such as tender game meat, sealing roasts of red meat, or simmering dishes started on the hob (e.g., coq au vin, stew). The recommended temperature range is 240°C (Min 35°C Max - 275°C).
- Shabbat: A specific mode with a fixed temperature of 90°C, designed for use during Shabbat.
- Pulsed Grill: This mode alternates between the upper heating element and the fan. Preheating is unnecessary. It's suitable for roasts and poultry that need to be juicy and crispy, and for sealing and cooking through leg roasts and beef ribs. It also helps preserve tenderness in fish fillets. The recommended temperature range is 200°C (Min. 180°C - Max. 230°C).
- High Grill: This mode uses only the upper heating element without a fan. It requires preheating for five minutes. A drip tray should be placed on the lower shelf support to collect grease. It's recommended for grilling chops, sausages, slices of bread, and prawns placed on the grid. The recommended temperature range is 275°C (Min 180°C Max - 275°C).
- Preheating: This function allows the oven to reach the desired temperature before cooking. Once the temperature is reached, the user can switch to the chosen cooking position.
The oven features a programmer that allows for setting the time, adjusting cooking duration, and scheduling delayed starts. It also includes a timer function that can operate independently of the oven's cooking functions.

- Programmer Display: The programmer (A) displays time and cooking time. It includes indicators for temperature (B), cooking time (C), cooking end time (D), and timer (E). The selection touch control (F) is used for setting cooking time and time.
- Setting the Time: When first supplied with electricity, the display flashes 12:00. The time can be set using the + and - buttons and validated by pressing the "∧" touch control. To adjust the time, the function selector switch must be in the 0 position. Hold down the "∧" button until 0:00 appears, then continue holding until the time reappears. Set the time using the selector and validate with "∧".
- Instant Cooking: Turn the function selector to the desired cooking mode. The oven recommends an ideal temperature, which can be adjusted using the + or - selector. The temperature symbol flashes during adjustment. Once the oven reaches the selected temperature, a series of beeps will be emitted, and the temperature indicator stops flashing. All types of cooking are done with the door closed.
- Programmed Cooking (Immediate Start and Programmed Duration): Select the desired cooking mode and adjust the temperature. Press the "∧" button until the cooking time indicator flashes. Set the cooking time using the + or - selector. The countdown begins automatically after a few seconds. At the end of cooking, the oven stops, 0:00 is displayed, and a series of beeps is emitted.
- Programmed Cooking (Delayed Start and Chosen Cooking End Time): After setting the cooking time, press the "∧" button until the cooking end time indicator flashes. Set the desired cooking end time using the + or - touch control. The oven heating is delayed so that cooking ends at the set time. The cavity lights up until cooking begins and remains lit until cooking is finished.
- Timer Function: The programmer can be used as an independent timer. Press the "∧" button until the timer symbol flashes and 0:00 appears. Adjust the time using the + or - selectors and confirm with "∧". The timer counts down in seconds and emits beeps when expired. The timer can be changed or cancelled at any time.

- Changing the Bulb: Disconnect the oven and allow it to cool down. The bulb is located on the ceiling of the oven's cavity. Unplug the oven. Unscrew the lighting port (use a rubber glove for easier disassembly). Unscrew the bulb in the same direction. Replace the bulb with one matching the specifications (15 W, 220-240 V ~, 300°C, E 14 cap). Reposition the port and reconnect the oven.
