This document describes the Savant HCX-4KHDR100 HDBaseT Extenders, designed to transmit 4K HDR signals up to 100 meters. The system includes both a transmitter and a receiver unit, along with necessary accessories for installation and operation.

Function Description:

The Savant HCX-4KHDR100 system extends 4K HDR video and audio signals over a single Category 6 or greater twisted pair cable. It supports HDBaseT technology for reliable long-distance transmission. The system also includes pass-through capabilities for IR control, RS-232 serial data, and Ethernet network connections, making it a comprehensive solution for AV distribution in various environments. The transmitter unit features an HDMI input, while the receiver unit provides an HDMI output. Both units include IR input/output, RS-232 control connectors, and an HDBaseT port. The receiver also offers an Audio Control selector for ARC (Audio Return Channel) or TOSLink input, allowing flexible audio routing. Power over HDBaseT (PoH) is supported, meaning one device can power the other, simplifying installation.

IR Wiring:

• IR Emitter: Connects to 3.5 mm IR Out to control an IR device.
• IR Connector Cable: Connects to 3.5 mm IR In to pass-through IR control from a Savant Controller. Pin-out: Pin 1 (Not Used), Pin 2 (IR + Red), Pin 3 (IR - Black).
• IR Receiver: Connects to 3.5 mm IR In to pass-through IR control. Not commonly used in a Savant Deployment.

RS-232 Wiring:

• RS-232 control is pass-through only. Serial control connections use a 3-pin Control Connector. Pin-out: Pin 1 (Transmit), Pin 2 (Receive), Pin 3 (Ground).

Maintenance Features:

Installation:

• The HDBaseT extender can be placed on a standard 1U rack shelf or installed using the included mounting brackets.
• Bracket Installation Steps:
  1. Remove the two case screws on the side of the device.
  2. Align the bracket using the top holes (note: this will leave an air gap behind the device).
  3. Replace the case screws, attaching the bracket.

HDBaseT Cable Information:

• Category 6 or greater twisted pair cable with RJ45 connectors is recommended.
• TIA/EIA-568B straight-through wiring connections must be used.
