Installation
1. The Voltage supply to which the machine is to be connected must be within the range shown on the
machine nameplate. If a fused plug is used the fuse rating should be approximately twice the full load
rating of the machine.
2. Connect supply cable to the plug as follows:
Brown flex to L or Line pin.
Blue flex to N or Neutral pin.
Yellow/Green flex to E or Earth pin.
3. Secure the machine firmly to a work bench or pedestal. The pedestal must be fixed to a firm level
surface.
Operating the Grinder
1. Before starting the motor check that the belt can be revolved freely by hand.
2. When starting and using the machine allow the machine to run up to full speed before applying the
workpiece to be ground.
3. Feed the workpiece smoothly into the grinding belt and avoid harsh intermittent pressure and
“bumping” onto the belt.
4. Avoid excessive pressure as this will tend to, decrease the belt speed and amount of stock removal,
cause uneven wear on the grinding belt and overload the motor.
5. Always apply light but firm pressure and allow the belt to rotate at the maximum possible speed.
6. Do not operate the machine more than 20 minutes in a row or more than 30 minutes per hour.
Change of Belt
1. Always disconnect the machine from power supply before changing belt.
2. Loosen the wing nut on the side of the machine and mount the protection panel.
3. The belt release handle is placed next to the motor and by lifting the handle the grinding belt will
come off.
4. Fit a new belt and observe that the direction of rotation corresponds to the arrows on the inside of the
belt.
5. Bring the belt into alignment by turning the belt with one hand and then adjust the belt with the handle
placed on the same side of the motor.
6. Fit the protection panel again and the machines is ready for use again.
