  If the Scantool Saw motor is running too hot, there are several potential causes: * The blade tension may be too high, so reduce the tension on the blade. * The drive belt tension might be too high, so reduce tension on the drive belt. * The blade might be too coarse or too fine for the material, so use a finer or coarser blade, respectively. * The gears may be aligned improperly; adjust them so the worm is in the center of the path. * The gears may need lubrication; check the oil path. * The cut might be binding the blade; decrease the reed anti-speed.

  If your Scantool Saw is making bad (crooked) cuts, consider the following: 1. The feed pressure may be too great; reduce pressure by increasing spring tension on the side of the saw. 2. The guide bearings may not be adjusted properly; adjust the guide bearing to a clearance no greater than 0.001. 3. The blade tension might be inadequate; increase blade tension by adjusting the blade tension. 4. The blade might be dull; replace the blade. 5. The speed might be incorrect; adjust the speed. 6. The blade guides might be spaced out too much; adjust the guide space. 7. The blade guide assembly might be loose; tighten it. 8. The blade truck might be too far away from the wheel flanges; re-track the blade according to the operating instructions.
