Users guide of the SCENAR Sport D 2021
Before starting using your SCENAR you need to remove the protective film from the device’s electrode.
Now open the battery compartment lid and insert the battery making sure the polarity is correct. You will hear the
sound. After 2 seconds the operation system will load and your device will enter the default state. On the screen you
will see the following symbols. A, which is the treatment energy, and by default it is set to one. Dosing mode D and
the presets are switched off, which is indicated by zeros. The default frequency is 60 Hz. The same things will appear
when you reset the device settings or change the battery.
If at some point you got confused with the modes you can reset your device by pressing and holding the arrow and
square button for approximately 2 seconds until you hear the intermittent sound. You can do that even when your
device is switched off.
If your device does not have any contact with skin for 60 seconds it is automatically switched off.
So how do you switch your device on? To switch it on or off you need to press and hold the square button for
approximately 2 seconds until you hear the intermittent sound signal. Please keep in mind, all settings will remain
the same as you left them before you switched the device off, except the treatment energy, which will be again set
to 1.
If you want to switch the device on and keep the value of treatment energy that was set during the previous
session, press and hold the combination of square and plus buttons.
If the battery is low, SCENAR will let you know. The device will make short beeps every 2 seconds. In this case just
replace the battery.
Now let’s talk about the symbols on the screen.

Overview

The SCENAR Sport D 2021 is a home-use device designed for systemic SCENAR therapy, featuring both manual modes and pre-installed presets. Its primary function is to deliver controlled electrical impulses to the skin, influencing nerve fibers and receptors for therapeutic purposes.

Function Description:

The device operates by applying electrical stimuli to the skin, with various modes and settings to customize treatment. The core principle involves adjusting treatment energy (amplitude), frequency, and modulation to achieve desired therapeutic effects.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Treatment Energy (Amplitude): Adjustable from 1 to 250 units. This setting controls the intensity of the electrical impulses.
  • Frequencies (Pulse Repetition Rates): Four fixed frequencies are available: 14 Hz (one beep), 60 Hz (two beeps), 90 Hz (three beeps), and 340 Hz (four beeps).
  • Frequency Modulation (FM): In this mode, the stimuli repetition rate gradually changes between 30 and 120 Hz. Indicated by "FM: 1" when on and "FM: 0" when off.
  • Amplitude Modulation (AM): This mode provides intermittent treatment, with 3 seconds of treatment followed by 1 second of pause. Indicated by "AM: 1" when on and "AM: 0" when off.
  • Dosing Modes:
    • D1 (Individually Dosed Mode): Treatment time is automatically determined. The device provides single beeps and displays "I" or bar symbols as the dose is applied. A "DOSE" message and two-tone sound signal indicate completion. Indicated by "D: 1" when on and "D: 0" when off.
    • D2 (Labile Screening Mode): Designed to find optimal treatment zones in large skin areas. Indicated by "D: 2" when on and "D: 0" when off.
  • Presets: Two pre-installed presets, "ACU" (ACUTE) and "SYS" (SYSTEM), are available.
    • Preset 1 – «ACU» (ACUTE): A universal preset for acute situations, featuring four phases: biomode (15-340 Hz automatic stimuli rate), low-frequency, mid-frequency, and high-frequency treatment. Treatment energy is controllable in all phases.
    • Preset 2 – «SYS» (SYSTEM): Intended for systemic treatment, focusing on interaction with the nervous system for general regulation. It has three phases: high-frequency, mid-frequency, and low-frequency treatment. Treatment energy is automatically set based on the user's initial setting.
  • Preset Duration: Adjustable from 1 to 29 minutes. The time of all phases is recalculated when the overall duration is changed.
  • Automatic Shut-off: The device automatically switches off if there is no skin contact for 60 seconds.
  • Battery Indicator: Low battery is indicated by short beeps every 2 seconds.

Usage Features:

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the square button for approximately 2 seconds until an intermittent sound is heard.
  • Switching On with Previous Energy Setting: Press and hold the combination of square and plus buttons.
  • Resetting Device: Press and hold the arrow and square button for approximately 2 seconds until an intermittent sound is heard. This resets all settings to default (Treatment energy 1, Dosing mode D and presets off, Frequency 60 Hz).
  • Adjusting Treatment Energy: Use the plus and minus buttons for single-unit adjustments or press and hold for faster adjustment. A long beep indicates reaching maximum or minimum limits.
  • Selecting Frequencies: Press the arrow button until "F" appears, then use plus/minus buttons.
  • Activating Dosing Modes (D1, D2): Press the arrow button until "D" appears, then use plus/minus buttons (once for D1, twice for D2).
  • Activating Modulation Modes (AM, FM): Press the arrow button until "AM" or "FM" appears, then use plus/minus buttons.
  • Combining Modes: D1 can be combined with any frequency, FM, and AM. FM can be combined with AM and D1. Mutually exclusive modes (e.g., F and FM) cannot be simultaneously active.
  • Activating Presets: Press the arrow button until "P" appears, then use the plus button to choose between Preset 1 (ACU, single sound) and Preset 2 (SYS, two sounds).
  • Viewing Preset Phase and Timer: When a preset is active, the screen displays the selected preset name, current phase number, and phase timer (e.g., "ACU 1 3:00").
  • Adjusting Preset Duration: Quickly press the arrow and square button combination to enter preset time setting mode (e.g., "ACU SET 10"). Use plus/minus buttons to change duration from 1 to 29 minutes.
  • Deactivating Presets: Press the arrow button several times until the selected preset is shown, then press the minus button. This returns treatment energy to its pre-preset value and resets other settings to default.
  • Quick Access to Preset 1: Press the combination of plus and minus buttons.
  • Screen Highlight: Press the square button.
  • Sound On/Off: Press the combination of the arrow and minus button. Note that muting disables dose signals in D1/D2 and menu sound indications.
  • Key Lock/Unlock: Press and hold the square and minus button combination until an ascending or descending two-tone sound signal is heard. When locked, the colon symbol on the screen is replaced by an "x". Keys unlock automatically when the device switches on after an automatic shut-off.

Maintenance Features:

  • Battery Replacement: When the battery is low (indicated by short beeps every 2 seconds), replace the battery. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Electrode Cleaning: The manual implies the presence of an electrode, which should be kept clean for proper contact.
  • Resetting Device: The reset function (arrow + square button for 2 seconds) can be used to restore default settings if the user is confused by current modes.
  • Important Safety Note: It is strictly forbidden to use power line-supply through any adapters, as this can be life-threatening.
