Why is my SCHMITT Water Pump not pumping?
- DDana WalterAug 11, 2025
If the SCHMITT Water Pump isn't pumping, first, ensure that the intake/suction pipe and/or pressure line is not closed by any fitting; if it is, open the fitting. Also, check if the transport and sealing cover is still in place and remove it. Inspect the pump for dry-running damage. Verify that the motor speed matches the specifications on the pump type plate. If the magnetic coupling has parted, switch the pump off and on again, and bring it up to the opened fittings. Clean any blockages or encrustations from the intake/suction pipe, pump, or suction strainer. Seal any sources of air being sucked in. If the pump is cavitating due to a high proportion of gas, consult the manufacturer. Lastly, if the pump is running in the wrong direction, change over any two phases in the motor.
