Inspect the output shaft for bending and replace it if necessary. Ensure the blades are swinging freely and check for even wear on each blade tip, ensuring the weight is within 1 oz. Replace blades in sets and consider replacing the carrier. Remove the hub and inspect the tapered spline shaft, cleaning and replacing it as needed. Replace any worn blades or bolts in sets, and if necessary, replace the drivelines.

If the oil seal isn't sealing properly in the housing, replace it or apply a sealant to its outer diameter. An overfilled oil level should be corrected by draining to the proper level. Other potential causes include a sand hole in the casting (requiring replacement of the castings or gearbox), a damaged gasket (replace the gasket), or loose bolts (tighten them).
