1.3.1. Enclosure
The E-1710/1720 is housed in a ruggedized industrial enclosure, 1 U by 19”
(Rack Mount).
Featuring heat dissipation capabilities, the E-1710/1720 may be
installed without the necessity for spacing between units.
This allows increased
flexibility for installation of a large number of encoders into limited-space
environments.
1.3.2. Front Panel
The front panel of the E-1710/1720 has a compact, slim-line design. For manual
control of the encoder, a four-way touch pad provides access to parameter
menus displayed in the LCD window. An entry is completed with the Enter
and/or Escape touch pads.
The SAVE function is provided on the top level of the parameters menu. This
function is required to save all entries and changes done.
A compact flash card port at the right end of the front panel is used for software
upgrades and storing encoder configurations (See Figure 1-5).
