INSTRUCTIONS FOR:
INFRARED GAS HEATER
MODEL No: LP14
Thank you for purchasing a Sealey product. Manufactured to a high standard this product will, if used according to these instructions
and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.
1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS & CAUTIONS.
USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSE
DAMAGE AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. PLEASE KEEP INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.
3. CONTENTS
1.1. GENERAL SAFETY
 IMPORTANT: The LP14 is a mobile, propane-fired, unvented, infrared space heater for commercial applications only. DO NOT use domestically.
WARNING!Use only in well ventilated spaces of more than 15m

to prevent an accumulation of dangerous combustion gases.
DO NOT operate heater in basements or otherwise below ground level.
WARNING! Heater will become very hot during use.
WARNING! Ensure Health & Safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this equipment.
Familiarise yourself with the application and limitations of the heater, as well as the potential hazards.
WARNING!Disconnect the heater from the gas supply before performing any maintenance.
Maintain the heater in good condition (use an authorised service agent).
Replace or repair damaged parts. Use genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
WARNING! Keep all guards and holding screws in place, tight and in good working order. Check regularly for damaged parts. A guard or
any other part that is damaged must be repaired or replaced before the heater is next used.
Keep the heater clean for best and safest performance.
Ensure the propane bottle is in a stable upright position before igniting the heater. DO NOT use with the bottle in any position other than upright.
DO NOT use any fuel other than propane.
Ensure there are no flammable or combustible materials within 2 metres of the heater and that nothing, including walls, is less than 500mm
from any surface of the heater.
DO NOT use the heater where there are flammable liquids, solids or gases such as paint solvents, etc.
Keep gas hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Regularly check hose for wear and ensure that all connections are secure.
DO NOT move the heater when it is operating.
DO NOT use the heater for any purpose other than that for which it is designed.
DO NOT operate the heater if any parts are damaged or missing as this may cause failure and/or personal injury.
DO NOT adjust, or tamper with, the regulator.
DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the heater.
DO NOT operate the heater when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.
When not in use disconnect from the gas supply and store in a safe, dry, childproof area.
In the event of a gas leak immediately close the bottle valve, extinguish any flame and then place equipment in a well ventilated area,
preferably outdoors, and away from any heat sources (including strong sunlight). Rectify cause of leakage.
If a persistent leakage occurs notify a qualified service engineer.
DANGER! If the burner remains alight after the bottle valve has been closed DO NOT attempt to remove burner and/or regulator from the
bottle. Contact your gas supplier immediately.

4. ASSEMBLY
4.1. Assembly (See fig.2)
4.1.1 Attach the stand to the heater assembly using the two bolts supplied.
4.1.2. Fit the regulator to the bottle by screwing the POL nut anticlockwise into the port of the gas bottle valve. Tighten nut with spanner.
4.1.3. Attach one end of the gas hose to the threaded outlet on the regulator (note that the fitting has a reverse thread). Attach the other end of
the gas hose to the threaded heater valve inlet (note that the fitting has a reverse thread). Ensure hose is routed so that it does not touch
any part of the heater, which will become hot during operation.
4.1.4. Open the bottle valve and, using soapy water, check all joints for leaks.

Overview

The Sealey LP14 is an infrared gas heater designed for commercial applications. It is a mobile, propane-fired, unvented unit featuring a ceramic plaque type heater and a steel tube stand with a built-in handle.

Function Description:

The LP14 heater provides infrared heat by burning propane gas. It is designed to be used in well-ventilated commercial spaces to prevent the accumulation of dangerous combustion gases. The heater is manually ignited and features a control knob to adjust the heat output. It connects to a propane gas bottle via a supplied hose and regulator.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Hose and Regulator: Supplied with a 1.5-meter hose and DVGW approved regulator.
  • Ventilation Requirement: Must be used in well-ventilated spaces of more than 15m³ to prevent dangerous gas accumulation.
  • Clearance Requirements: No flammable or combustible materials within 2 meters of the heater. Nothing, including walls, should be less than 500mm from any surface of the heater.

Usage Features:

  • Commercial Use Only: Explicitly stated as being for commercial applications only, not for domestic use.
  • Mobile Design: Features a stand with a handle for easy portability.
  • Ignition Procedure:
    1. Open the gas bottle valve.
    2. Push the heater control knob down and turn it anticlockwise to the "full on" position, keeping it held down.
    3. After a few seconds, bring a flame to the bottom edge of the burner.
    4. Once ignited, keep the knob held down for 20 seconds, then turn the control knob anticlockwise to reduce the heat output to the desired level.
  • Shut-off Procedure:
    1. Turn the heater control knob clockwise to the "full on" position, then push the knob down and continue turning it clockwise to the "off" position.
    2. Close the gas bottle valve.
  • Propane Bottle Replacement: Ensure the bottle valve is closed, then unscrew the POL nut to remove the regulator. Fit the regulator to a new propane bottle and check for gas leaks.
  • Safety Warnings:
    • DO NOT operate in basements or below ground level.
    • Heater becomes very hot during use.
    • DO NOT use where flammable liquids, solids, or gases (e.g., paint solvents) are present.
    • DO NOT move the heater while operating.
    • DO NOT use any fuel other than propane.
    • Ensure the propane bottle is in a stable upright position.
    • DO NOT adjust or tamper with the regulator.
    • DO NOT allow untrained persons to operate the heater.
    • DO NOT operate when tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or intoxicating medication.
    • In case of a gas leak, immediately close the bottle valve, extinguish any flame, move the equipment to a well-ventilated area (preferably outdoors), and away from heat sources. Rectify the cause of leakage.
    • If the burner remains alight after the bottle valve has been closed, DO NOT attempt to remove the burner or regulator; contact your gas supplier immediately.
