CHECK
BELT
ADJUSTMENT
New Belts may stretch after the
first
few hours
of
ope
ration
resulting in
loss
of
power.
a.
With engine running, transmission in neutral, place Vari-
drive Control Lever in
"FAST"
position (Fig. 11) and
check
if
Secondary Belt (Fig. 16 · Inset) rides flush
with
outside
of
Variator
Sheave
. (DO NOT PUSH DOWN
ON
CLUTCH PEDAL).
b.
If
Secondary Belt
is
riding down in groove
of
Variator
Sheave
adjustment
is
required.
2.
V-BEL T ADJUSTMENT
a.
With engine running,
transm1ss1on
in neutral, move
Varid~ive
Control Lever
to
medium position (straight
up) (Fig. 11).
b. Loosen Adjustment Nuts
"A"
and
"B"
on Varidrive
Stop Plate (Fig. 16).
c.
Start Engine
and
run at Id
le
speed.
d. Slowly move Varidrive Control Lever (Fig. 11) forward
("FAS
T"
position) until Secondary Belt
is
riding flush
with
outside
of
Variator
Sheave
(Fig. 16 · Inset). (DO
NOT
PUSH
DOWN ON CLUTCH PEDAL).

Shut Engine
off
holding Varidrive Control Lever in posi-
tion
described in Step
e.
f. Rotate Variator Stop Plate upward until Adjustment
Stop
Bolt
"B"
(Fig. 16) hits
bottom
of
Stop Plate Slot.
g.
Hold
Stop Plate in this position
and
tighten Adjustment
Nuts

to
secure.
h. Adjustment
Nut

maintains the Variator Belt Adjust·

maintains the Varidrive
Handle tension.

START
TRACTOR
MOVEMENT
WITH
THROTTLE
CONTROL IN
MIDDLE
POSITION.
ALWAYS
REPLACE
WITH
SEARS BELTS.
3. CHANGE ENGINE
OIL
Changing Oil after the
first
two
hours
will
help eliminate
break-in residue which might
be
damaging
to
your
Engine.
NOTE:
BE
CAREFUL
NOT TO
ALLOW
DIRT
TO ENTER
THE
ENGINE WHEN CHANGING
OIL.
