Overview

Usage Features

The system's front panel includes a variety of controls for easy operation:

  • Power ON/OFF (1): Turns the unit on or off.
  • BD/LD (FM1-FM2-FM3-MW) (2): Selects between different radio bands (FM1, FM2, FM3, MW).
  • SEEK & STORE AUTOMATICALLY (3): Automatically seeks and stores strong radio stations.
  • SOUND EFFECT SELECT BUTTON (4): Allows selection of sound effects (e.g., CLASSIC, ROCK, POP).
  • MUTE BUTTON (5): Mutes the audio output.
  • CLOCK BUTTON (6): Displays the current time and allows setting the clock.

  • AUDIO CONTROL ENCODER SWITCH/AUDIO CONTROL MODE SELECT BUTTON (8): A multi-function knob for adjusting volume, bass, treble, balance, and fader.

  • SEEK DOWN (10): Seeks down to the previous station or track.
  • SEEK (11): Initiates a seek function.

Basic Operation

  • Power ON/OFF: Press the PWR button to turn the unit on. Press it again to turn it off.
  • Volume: Turn the knob left or right to adjust the volume level.
  • Bass: Press the SEL button once to display BASS. Turn the knob left or right to adjust the bass level.
  • Treble: Press the SEL button twice to display TRE. Turn the knob left or right to adjust the treble level.
  • Balance: Press the SEL button three times to display BAL. Turn the knob left or right to adjust the balance level.
  • Fader: Press the SEL button four times to display FAD. Turn the knob left or right to adjust the fader level.
  • DSP (Digital Signal Processor): Press this button to choose between CLASSIC, ROCK, or POP sound effects.
  • MUTE: Press the MUTE button to keep the unit in silent mode. Press MUTE again to resume normal listening.
  • CLOCK SETTING/DISPLAY: Press the CLK button once to display the current time. The display will return to normal status after five seconds. To adjust the time, press the CLK button to display the current time. Press and hold the button again while using the up or down buttons to adjust the minute and hour.

Radio Operation

  • Radio Band: Press the BD/LD button to operate the radio function. There are three sets total for FM band (FM1, FM2, FM3) and one set for AM band (MW). Up to six preset stations can be stored for each set.
  • Tune/Seek:
    1. In radio mode, press the BD/LD button to choose the band. Every time this button is pressed, the new band shows on the display.
    2. Press the UP or DN button to move the radio frequency up or down. Press any preset button for 2 seconds to store the desired station.
    3. Repeat the above steps to seek and store other stations.
    4. Press the UP/DN button for 2 seconds until the unit starts to automatically seek strong stations and store them in memory.
    5. In radio mode, press the SCAN button to scan through all strong stations. Each strong station will be displayed for 5 seconds before proceeding to the next one. During this 5 seconds press the button again to stop on a desired station.
    6. In FM Radio mode, press MON (Mono/St) button to select stereo or mono reception. Only stereo is shown on the Display.
  • Selecting a Preset: Press preset button 1–6 to listen to a stored station of your choosing.

Installation and Wiring

Installing the Unit

  1. Dashboard: The unit is designed to be installed in a dashboard.
  2. Align the mounting plate: Ensure the mounting plate is properly aligned.
  3. Drill 1–1/2" hole for wire to come through: A hole needs to be drilled to accommodate the wiring.
  4. Mount the mounting plate with four screws: Secure the mounting plate using four screws.

Notes:

  • Choose the mounting location where the unit will not interfere with the normal operation on the boat.
  • Before installing the unit, connect the wiring temporarily to make sure that the unit and the system work properly.
  • To ensure proper installation, use only the parts included with the unit. The use of unauthorized parts can cause malfunctions.
  • Consult with your nearest dealer if installation requires the drilling of holes or other modifications to the boat.
  • Install the unit where it does not get in the driver's way and cannot injure the passenger if there is a sudden stop.
  • Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to high temperature. Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from hot air from the heater. Also avoid installing the unit in an area subject to dust, dirt or excessive vibration.

Wiring Diagram

The wiring diagram illustrates how to connect the radio and speaker system.

Warning:

  • This unit is designed for use with 4 speakers; however, it can be installed using only 2 speakers.
  • If installing 2 speakers, do not connect front and rear speaker leads together.
  • Use either the front or rear leads insulating the unused wires.
  • Never ground negative speaker leads to the chassis ground of the boat.

Connections:

  • Antenna: Connect the antenna.
  • RCA Out: Red (RCH RED) and Blue (RCH BLUE) for RCA output.
  • AUX In: Green (RCH GREEN) and Orange (LCH ORANGE) for auxiliary input.
  • AUX IN. RCA OUT: Additional RCA input/output.
  • Power: Blue wire for antenna.
  • Ignition Switch (B+): Red wire.
  • Memory Back-up Yellow: Includes a 10A FUSE.
  • Ground (B-) Black: Black wire for ground.
  • 4-Speaker System:
    • Front Lch. SPK: White and White/Black wires.
    • Rear Lch. SPK: Green and White/Black wires.
    • Front Rch. SPK: Grey and Grey/Black wires.
    • Rear Rch. SPK: Violet and Violet/Black wires.

Removing the Unit

  1. Press the SVC button which allows the face plate to be removed.
  2. Remove the piece that needs to be serviced.
