Overview

The SEIKOM ELECTRONIC DTM04/DTM05 is an electronic pressure transducer primarily designed for measuring total and differential air pressure in ventilation systems. It is intended for use in conjunction with a controller, PLC, or monitoring system for various applications such as monitoring, control, and regulation.

Function Description:

The DTM series provides an active current (4-20 mA) or voltage (0-10 V) signal that is proportional to the measured air pressure. It utilizes semiconductor elements without air throughput, which protects the device from dust present in the ventilation system. The pressure element is temperature-compensated to ensure optimal pressure measurement across its specified temperature range. The device's measuring range, output signal type (voltage or current), and damping can be configured using DIP switches. A green LED indicates correct power supply connection, and flashes if the current pressure is outside the selected measuring range. A yellow LED indicates a differential pressure greater than 50 Pa and flashes during the zero-setting process.

Usage Features:

Areas of Application:

  • Maintenance/control for constant pressure in duct systems.
  • Maintaining/controlling a specified negative pressure in duct systems.
  • Differential pressure measurement via filters for optimum filter replacement.
  • Volume measurement using differential pressure measurement via standard orifice plate.

Installation:

  • Installation and commissioning must be carried out by authorized and qualified personnel.
  • Connection to the main supply (L, N) requires a protected circuit breaker with standard fuses, adhering to VDE regulations (VDE 0100, VDE 0113, VDE 0160).
  • If a potential-free contact is used with a safety extra-low voltage, connecting cables must be sufficiently insulated to the terminal to prevent impairment of double insulation to the mains voltage side. The current carrying capacity of the potential-free contact is limited to 6 A and must be protected with a 6.3 A fuse.
  • The DTM must be mounted on a flat surface. Its operation is independent of the mounting position, but for IP54 protection, both connectors should be fitted with hoses if pointing upwards.
  • Pressure connection is made using hoses, with the highest pressure connected to the '+' connection and the lowest pressure to the '-' connection. If hoses are reversed or pressure is outside the measuring range, the green LED flashes.
  • Pressure hoses should be kept as short as possible and fastened to avoid vibrations.
  • Optimal pressure measurement is achieved at points with the lowest risk of turbulent flow, typically in the middle of ventilation ducts and at a sufficient distance from bends and branches.
  • For optimal measurement, observe an inlet distance of at least 6 times the pipe inner diameter and an outlet distance of at least 2 times the pipe inner diameter.
  • The housing can be opened without tools by pressing the snap lock on the side of the connection piece.
  • The transmitter cable can be up to 50 m long. To avoid interference, it should not be laid parallel to power cables. A shielded cable with a cross-section of at least 0.5 mm² per conductor is recommended, with the shield connected on one side.

Settings:

  • Pressure Range Selection: Set via rotary switch SW2. Ranges from -50/+50 Pa to 0-5000 Pa (DTM04) or 0-2500 Pa (DTM05). If set to values other than 0-7, the transmitter defaults to position 7 (highest range). If the transmitter is set to a lower range than the applied pressure, the green LED lights up continuously.
  • Output Signal Selection:
    • 0-10 V output: Terminal 2, DIP1 on SW1 in "Off" position.
    • 2-10 V output: Terminal 2, DIP1 on SW1 in "On" position.
    • 0-20 mA output: Terminal 4, DIP1 on SW1 in "Off" position.
    • 4-20 mA output: Terminal 4, DIP1 on SW1 in "On" position.
  • Damping Selection: Set via DIP2 on SW1 to 0.4s ("Off") or 10s ("On"). Damping averages multiple pressure measurements over the selected time period to suppress pressure oscillations in the ventilation system.

Maintenance Features:

Zero Position Adjustment:

  • After installation and power connection, the transmitter may need to be zeroed.
  • Before zeroing, ensure the same pressure is applied to both the '+' and '-' nozzles (e.g., by stopping the ventilation system).
  • If the yellow LED lights up constantly, it indicates a differential pressure greater than 50 Pa, possibly due to unintentional system pressure or jammed hoses. It is recommended to remove pressure hose(s) from the '+' and '-' connections during zeroing.
  • To start zeroing, activate the built-in zero-set switch (SW3). The yellow LED will flash until the zeroing process is complete.

LED Display:

  • Green LED:
    • On: Power supply connected correctly, device is okay.
    • Single flash: Current pressure is outside the set measuring range.
    • Off: No power supply.
  • Yellow LED:
    • On: Pressure >50 Pa.
    • Single flash (approx. 3 seconds): Zero setting is being executed.
    • Off: Pressure <50 Pa.
