Overview

This document describes the Sencor SBL 7550SS Automatic Smoothie Blender, a household appliance designed for blending various food items.

Function Description

The Sencor SBL 7550SS is an automatic smoothie blender primarily intended for processing a standard amount of food in a household setting. It excels at preparing drinks from fresh fruit, fitness drinks, milkshakes, and other cocktails. Beyond beverages, it can also be used for mixed drinks, salsas, creamy soups, sauces, and blended baby foods. The blender offers two blending modes: "SOFT" for ingredients with a soft consistency (like strawberries, tomatoes, bananas) and "HARD" for firmer fruits and vegetables (such as carrots, apples, pears, pineapples), as well as for smoothie beverages, cocktails, frozen food, and side dishes. These modes have preset speeds and durations and operate automatically once selected, eliminating the need to hold down a button. The blending progress is indicated by an LED display, and the blender automatically shuts off upon completion of the cycle.

The appliance is equipped with a powerful motor and a safety mechanism that prevents operation unless the blending jar or bottle is correctly assembled and seated on the motor base unit. It also features a thermal fuse to protect the motor from damage in case of overload, automatically shutting off the appliance if the motor becomes overloaded. Anti-slip feet with suction cups ensure stability during operation.

Usage Features

The SBL 7550SS offers versatile blending options with two types of containers: a glass blending jar and two sports bottles.

  • Glass Blending Jar (0.9 L capacity): This jar is suitable for situations where ingredients might need to be added during the blending process, as it allows additions through a hole in the lid by removing the inner cap. It comes with a six-blade assembly made from high-quality titanium-coated stainless steel.
  • Sports Bottles (0.6 L capacity each): These bottles are designed for convenience, allowing users to take their blended drinks on the go. They fit perfectly into cup holders in motor vehicles or bicycle bottle holders. Each bottle also includes a removable six-blade assembly made from high-quality titanium-coated stainless steel. The bottle lids feature a closable spout to prevent spillage.

For optimal blending results, it is recommended to add ingredients in a specific order: liquids first, followed by fresh fruit, frozen fruit, yogurt, and ice cream. Ingredients with a firm consistency or larger dimensions should be cut into smaller pieces (2-3 cm) before blending. Hard peels, stones, or seeds should be removed from fruits and vegetables. When blending solid food with liquids, it's advised to blend the solid ingredients with a portion of the liquid first, then gradually add the remaining liquid through the lid's hole. Similarly, blending a smaller amount of ingredients first and then gradually adding more can yield better results than adding all at once. Frozen ingredients, such as ice cubes or frozen fruits, should not exceed 2x2 cm and should be processed immediately after removal from the freezer to prevent them from sticking together.

The appliance is not designed for mashing potatoes, mixing dough, whipping eggs, or grinding raw meat. Hot liquids should be allowed to cool to at least 40 °C before pouring into the blending jar or bottle to prevent steam release and potential burns. When processing hot liquids or liquids that expand, the blending jar or bottle should not be filled to more than two-thirds of its maximum capacity. Continuous operation should not exceed 2 minutes (1 minute for harder foods or thick liquids), with a 2-minute cooling period recommended between cycles to prevent overheating. If ingredients get stuck, the blender should be turned off, unplugged, and the blade assembly or container walls cleaned with a plastic spatula before resuming blending.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and safe operation of the SBL 7550SS. All parts that come into contact with food, including the glass blending jar, sports bottles, bottle lids, and blade assemblies, should be thoroughly washed after each use. It is recommended to clean them as soon as possible to prevent ingredients from drying and sticking. These parts can be washed in hot water with neutral dishwashing detergent, rinsed with clean warm water, and then dried. The glass blending jar and sports bottles (A3, A8, A10) are dishwasher-safe.

Special care must be taken when handling the sharp cutting edges of the blade assemblies (A4 or A9) during washing to avoid injury. The motor base unit (A5) and its power cord should never be submerged in water or any other liquid, nor should they be rinsed under running water or washed in a dishwasher. The exterior of the motor base unit can be cleaned with a lightly dampened wiping cloth or sponge and then wiped dry. Abrasive cleaning agents, dishwashing wool, or steel wool should not be used on any part of the appliance, especially the base unit, as they can damage the surface.

Before storing, the blender and all its accessories must be clean, dry, and disconnected from the power supply. The appliance should be stored in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children, and away from extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity to prevent damage.
