Do you have a question about the Sencor SEG 710BP and is the answer not in the manual?
This document describes the Sencor SEG 710BP Egg Cooker, a household appliance designed for boiling eggs.
The Sencor SEG 710BP Egg Cooker is designed to boil eggs to various consistencies: soft-boiled, medium-boiled, or hard-boiled. It can cook between 1 and 7 eggs at a time. The appliance operates by heating water on a stainless steel heating plate, which then generates steam to cook the eggs. An indicator light signals when the appliance is in operation, and an acoustic signal indicates when the cooking process is complete.
Before first use, the appliance and its accessories should be unpacked. The stainless steel heating plate should be wiped with a cloth dampened in warm water and neutral kitchen detergent, then rinsed and dried. The removable lid and egg tray should be washed in warm water with neutral kitchen detergent, rinsed, and dried.
To operate, the power cord should be unwound, and the appliance placed on a stable, even, and clean surface. The removable egg tray should be correctly seated on the heating plate, ensuring its stability. The measuring cup, included with the appliance, is used to measure the correct amount of cold drinking water. The measuring cup has three scales marked "Soft," "Medium," and "Hard," each with numbers 1 to 7, corresponding to the number of eggs and desired consistency. For example, to cook four soft-boiled eggs, fill the measuring cup to the number 4 mark on the "Soft" scale. It is important not to add any other substances, such as salt, to the water. The measured water is then poured onto the heating plate, taking care not to spill it onto the base unit or over the edge of the heating plate.
Eggs, pointing upwards, are placed into the egg tray. A maximum of 7 eggs can be boiled simultaneously. Only fresh eggs should be used. Before cooking, the tip of each egg should be pierced using the egg piercing pin located on the underside of the measuring cup. Care should be taken not to apply excessive force to avoid cracking the egg. The lid is then placed securely on the egg tray.
The power cord is connected to an electrical socket, and the appliance is turned on by setting the I/O switch to the "I" (On) position. The indicator light will illuminate, and the heating plate will begin to heat the water. Approximate cooking times are 5 minutes for soft-boiled, 10 minutes for medium-boiled, and 15 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
During operation, the appliance heats up, and steam is emitted from the steam outlet. Users should exercise caution to avoid contact with hot surfaces or steam. The lid should not be opened, and the appliance should not be handled during operation. Certain parts of the appliance remain hot even after it is turned off, so the handles should be used for handling.
Once the cooking process is complete, an acoustic signal will sound. The I/O switch should be set to "0" (Off) to turn off the appliance and the acoustic signal. The power cord should then be disconnected from the electrical socket. The lid should be removed using its handle and placed on a heat-resistant surface. The egg tray, with the eggs, should be removed and placed under cold running water to facilitate shell removal and prevent overcooking.
After each use, the appliance should be cleaned. Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is turned off, disconnected from the power socket, and that all hot parts have cooled down.
The removable lid and egg tray should be washed in warm water with a neutral kitchen detergent, then thoroughly rinsed under running water and dried. These parts should not be washed in a dishwasher.
The heating plate should be wiped with a cloth dampened in a solution of warm water and neutral kitchen detergent, then rinsed with a clean damp cloth and dried. It is crucial never to apply limescale deposit cleaning agents onto a hot heating plate.
The base unit should be cleaned with a dry wiping cloth. For heavier soiling, the cloth can be dampened in a weak solution of neutral kitchen detergent. After applying the detergent, the surface of the egg cooker should be wiped with a lightly damp cloth and then dried. Abrasive cleaning products, petrol, solvents, or steel wool should never be used for cleaning.
To remove lime scale deposits, which can accumulate due to calcium salts in egg shells, a small amount of vinegar should be poured into the measuring cup, and water added, ensuring the solution level does not exceed mark 1 on the "Hard" scale. This solution is then poured directly onto the heating plate and allowed to act for 30 minutes. After this time, the solution should be removed, and the heating plate wiped with a clean, lightly dampened cloth and then dried. It is important never to heat up the descaling solution in the appliance.
For safety, the appliance should always be turned off and disconnected from the power socket when not in use, before disassembly or assembly, before moving, or before cleaning. The power cord should not be pulled to disconnect the appliance; instead, the plug should be gently pulled. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced at a professional service center, and the appliance should not be used with a damaged power cord or plug. Repairs or adjustments should only be performed by an authorised service center to avoid electrical shock and to maintain warranty validity.
