Why is my Servis-Rhino CY72 Brush Cutter not cutting clean?
    • R
      reginamartinAug 17, 2025
If your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter isn't cutting cleanly, several factors could be the cause. The blades might be dull, requiring sharpening or replacement. Ensure you're using the correct blade for the carrier and that the carrier RPM isn't too low—increase PTO speed if necessary. Check if the mower is leveled, adjusting it to be slightly lower in the front (1/2" to 1") in heavy weeds. If tires are mashing down grass, use an offset adapter to shift the mower to the left. Reducing ground speed can also help. Make sure blades are not locked back; free them if they are. Also, inspect the blade bolts for wear and replace them if the blades are riding up. Lastly, check if the blades are bent upwards, and replace them if needed.

Why does my Servis-Rhino CY72 vibrate?
    • S
      Seth EvansAug 20, 2025
If your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter is vibrating, the following issues could be the cause: * A blade may be locked back, so try loosening it. * The drivelines may not be phased, so consider replacing the driveline. * A blade might be broken, in which case you should replace the blades in sets. * The blade carrier could be bent, requiring repair or replacement. * The blade hub may not be properly seated on the shaft; remove the hub, check the key and shaft, and reseat properly or replace if necessary. * A new blade might be matched with a worn blade, so replace blades in sets. * The output shaft could be bent, requiring replacement.

    • M
      Michael ReevesAug 23, 2025
Blade bolts on your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter may break due to operating with loose blade bolts, so tighten blade bolts to 300 ft./lbs. (Right Hand Threads). Also, worn blade bolts can cause breakage, so replace the bolt.

Why do blade bolts keep working loose on my Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter?
    • D
      Dale RiceAug 26, 2025
Blade bolts on your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter may be working loose because the bolts are not tightened enough; tighten bolts to 300 ft./lbs. The bolt hole could be elongated or oversized, in which case you should replace the blade carrier. The locknut might also be worn out, so replace the locknut.

    • K
      Kevin WilliamsSep 3, 2025
Your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter might be cutting too high because the blades are bent up, so replace the blades. The blade carrier could be bent, so straighten or replace the blade carrier. Also, the blades might be on upside down, so turn the blades right side up and tighten.

What to do if the slip clutch is slipping on my Servis-Rhino CY72?
    • A
      Adriana HoltSep 5, 2025
The slip clutch on your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter might be slipping due to excessive load or too much power, so reduce ground speed and/or raise the mower, and reduce material intake. The springs could be weak, so replace the springs. Improper adjustment can also cause slipping, so re-adjust the slip clutch. Friction facings might be worn, glazed or have oil on them, so replace the facings or clean with emery cloth.

Why is the gearbox noisy on my Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter?
    • N
      Nicholas HarrisSep 12, 2025
If the gearbox on your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter is noisy, it could be due to improper backlash. Refer to the Maintenance Section. Rough gears could also be the cause, so run in or change the gears. A worn bearing might also be the problem, so replace the bearing.

Why is oil blowing out of the vent plug on my Servis-Rhino CY72?
    • A
      Amber FlynnSep 14, 2025
If oil is blowing out of the vent plug on your Servis-Rhino Brush Cutter, it could be due to a flat-bottomed or shallow cavity vent plug, so replace it with the proper vent plug. The oil level might also be too high, so lower the oil level to the plug.
